Background
The Magellan RoadMate 1440 was first released in 2009. The device is encased in high-impact plastic and is powered by a lithium ion battery. Maps and other interfacing is displayed on a 4.3" LCD color touchscreen with a speaker utilizing voice navigation instructions and street name announcements.
