Amazon Echo Show Troubleshooting

Yes, very helpful related on Echo Show. First time when I used my device I was facing problem with Wi-Fi. Then I found solution here.

My show has lines that “reflect” from the overlay. If there are bright words or a cloud on the screen there will be bright lines above or below. The lines move with the graphics across the screen.

Alexa is not responding to my questions. I have a orange circle with a line through it. Is this the issue? How do I correct this? I am connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I am on the Echo Show device.

When i press the buttons on the screen it tells me what they are for but wont do anything and i need to get to setting to add my wifi, what else can i do?

If you get intermittent horizontal flickering lines, turn off the auto brightness in settings and also reduce the brightness setting. Shouldn't have to do that but it did get rid of the flickering on mine.

Again, my problem with intermittent streaking lines was fixed by going into the echo show display settings, turning off the auto-brightness and lowering the brightness setting until the lines disappeared.

Is the screen faulting covered by the warranty ? Looks like my screen lines won't go away .

How do you get to settings ?

My echo show powers up and screen comes on but it doesn't respond to voice or screen touch can't get a menu up. Can anyone help…

My show had the horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen. A phone call to Amazon revealed that it is a known problem. Amazon sent me a shipping label to return my device and it was replaced

I turned off auto brightness, lowered brightness so low you could hardly see the screen, moved the unit to another room.. Still get horizontal lines on the screen. I’m extremely disappointed that a company like Amazon knows that this problem exists and seems to be ignoring it hoping it will go away. There apparently is no permanent fix . They should be replacing these defective units.

Can anyone help ?? I have an echo show 2nd generation. Does anyone know why the contact from my mobile phone will not import/export to the echo show ?? I have aprox 250 contact and only 14 have transferred to the echo. Any BASIC step by step procedures to resolve the problem would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Dil

My shows OS won’t load up. It won’t get past the Amazon logo. Then the screen goes black and it tries to restart again but the OS never loads. Any suggestions? Or should I just toss it. ,I’ve is the 1st gen Show

in July of last year, I bought an Echo Show. It worked great for about three months, then the screen started flickering. I sent it back to Amazon for repairs. When I got it back it worked great for about three months, then the screen started flickering again. This time I asked Amazon to replace it with a new unit, which they did (I assume; at least the serial number was different). It has worked well for several months, but yesterday the screen started flickering again. I haven’t contacted Amazon yet. I’m still trying to decide what to ask them to do.

while trying to set up my amazon echo show I reached to double tab, speed and touch screen. Apparently I made a mistake and now can not go to home screen and complete my setting

Unfortunately this does not show my issue. The screen shows all the normal stuff except it has a circle with a line though the circle.

Mine wont turn on i get amazon logo nothing else its brand new going back tomorrow sodding fuming i am

My echo show seems to have a virus. It is typing on its own and there is no way for me to stop it. I tried unplugging as well as doing a reboot. Any advice?

I have two Echo Shows, on in the kitchen and other in the bedroom. The one in the kitchen stopped working. It has a red line on the bottom and a sign like crossed circle. I restarted it, but did not help. It doses not react to “Alexa”.

After months of use my echo shows the message updating do not turn off during this update, but it has been going on for 24 hours

My Echo show, first generation, is starting to exhibit sound issues. One morning, right in the middle of telling me the weather forecast, my echo lost its voice. I asked it why it wasn’t responding to me and it gave me a list of troubleshooting ideas (all with no sound). Then it was okay. Today (2 days later) while announcing a reminder it went into a feedback type echo state. Should I factory reset it to see if that fixes the issue or am I looking at having to replace my unit?

My device goes no further than saying Amazon on the screen

I have a First generation model. All of the sudden, it started to display the following problems as in the order I describe:

1) started to play distorted sound while she was talking or playing music.

2) stopped responding commands

3) it went dark, dead, completely unresponsive. It doesn’t even display or work anymore.

What should i do?

Every time I get a message notification on my Echo Show 2nd generation, the message notification stays on the screen and I cannot remove it or use the touch screen unless I reboot the system. This happens just about every time. Anyone know what is wrong?

When answering on echo show video the party calling says our conversation. Is broken up and they only hear every other word?

My 94 year old Mother’s Amazon Echo Show device is not working properly. The picture keeps changing on the screen but when I call her the green answer button doesn’t show on the screen ,so we have no video interaction. What does she need to do ,so the green answer button reappears?

Not sure if anyone else has had or is having this issue, but I just got an echo show, and I'm trying to register it, but when I put in my login info, it sends me to the registration code screen (where it says, go here to put in code and register product), so I do that, put the code in, and as I do that, it says my device is registered, but the Amazon echo show doesn't go to the next screen. It just kicks me back out to the login screen, even after registering it. I'm not sure what to do

My Echo Show5 has stopped playing radio stations when I request them.

Echo show 5 responds to requests for weather etc. but for no reason has stopped playing radio stations when I ask for them. The request is repeated by Echo but nothing after that.

My show 8 just quit connecting to Sirius. The unit is linked but when I ask for it to be played it says "in order to play Sirius, you must link Alexa app and I have sent instructions to your Alexa on your phone". I have rebooted everything, (including router and modem) turned it off and back on, unplugged it... Funny, but all the other Dots etc. I have in my house have no connection issues with Sirius. Please provide a solution as my wife is driving me crazy ever since this stopped working

My echo show 10 not connecting to WIFI ... tried modem switch off, echoshow switch off, reset echo show ....tried other WiFi too... "not connecting to wifi".... what should I do?..

Pleaese can somebody help me. I bought an Echo 5 yesterday to upgrade it from my old Echo Dot. and set it all up, however when going onto the Timezones, IT DOES NOT LIST UK. Therefore I can't have the correct time or use it for Alarms, Reminders etc, et. Im so gutted!

Also, I tried to call my friend from my Ech to her's and it woulnt do it, even though I gave it correct instructions. or. It worked ok with my old Dot.

I remember wagely, that you have to somehow authorise or enable it for calls and messages et. but I cant remember how I did it. Does anybody know how?

I would be most grateful if somebody has got any ideas to correct my issues and help me, its so frustrating!

To add, I got the Alex App on my Samsung Mobile Phone and even though on there I can find United Kingdom, London Timezoneand its ticked, on my Echo 5 its still wrong.

Is there no Telephone Number to contact their Customer Do or do'nt Care Department?

Why do I keep getting the message that live view is not available right now on my echo show and the camera is activated and on????

I was able to use an USB OTG adapter to plug a mouse into my Echo Show 10 and make it work.

I have one of the original Echo Shows. It started having trouble after a few years and they sent us a newer model at a reduced price. I then tried banging the old one on the side, the way we used to do with old televisions, and it worked for another few years. Recently, it quit again, not responding to commands and playing things at random. I worked with customer support for a few minutes and then he that it was a hardware problem and decided to send me a refurbished one. I guess they have too many of these old ones to sell...

So now... I may have some fun and take the old one apart! Who knows, maybe it's just a loose wire!

Hello, any suggestions on how to fix the issue of my echo show 10 not connecting to the WIFI? It seems to default to security that is WAP2.
