The SRS-XG300 was released in 2022 and is a portable speaker used to stream audio from paired devices, like smartphones or laptops. Along with up to 25 hours of battery life, the SRS-XG300 is designed for loud sound and durability. The speaker runs Bluetooth 5.2 and has multi-point connection, which supports two connected devices at the same time.
This speaker is currently sold on the Sony website for $149.99. This popular, high-demand speaker has various 5-star reviews and incredible feedback. Many of the reviews praise the speaker’s long battery life, effortless transportation, portability, appealing design, and high-powered sound.

The SRS-XG300 was the 2022 addition to Sony’s X-Series speakers, which were introduced in June 2014. Over time, the X-Series speakers have evolved with newer models like the SRS-XB and SRS-XP. More recently, Sony has been branching out of portability with the addition of the Sony SRS-XV800 Wireless Party Speaker in May 2023. The SRS-XG300 is closely related to the SRS-XG500, specifically. They are similar in use, but the SRS-XG300 provides easier mobility due to its smaller size. The SRS-XG300 does not have inputs for wires, but the wireless aspect allows for the same uses, plus more.
Following the SRS-XG300, was the production of the SRS-XB43, released in 2019. This new model was designed to resist more outside factors like dust and water, making it better suitable for outside use. Yet, in comparison to the SRS-XG300, the SRS-XB43 does not have as good of a speaker. The new model falls short with regard to bass and higher frequencies. Because of the variety in models, choosing the right speaker for your needs is made simpler. All of the speakers have individual strengths that can be assessed by the user to make a better, correctly informed decision.
Identification
The Sony SRS-XG300 speaker has a long cylinder shape with a weaved patterned exterior, and two speakers on each end. There are two button boards along the side of the retractable handle on the speaker. The button board under the ‘Sony’ brand label contains the Bluetooth, power, and Mega Bass buttons. The button board on the right has the play/pause, and volume buttons.
The SRS-XG300 is also equipped with two rubber feet that help stabilize the device horizontally. The SRS-XG300 weighs 3kg (approx. 6.6lb) and can come in the colors black and gray. Like previous bigger models, the speaker has RGB lights built into both ends of the speaker.
The back of the SRS-XG300 has a rubber flap protecting various electrical ports. Under the rubber cover is a USB-A port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a type-c charging port, a battery check button, and a ‘light’ button that controls the RGB lights.
