This troubleshooting page will help diagnose problems with the Turtle Beach 70P.
Ear Pads Falling Off
The ear pads won’t stay on the headset or appear to be torn or worn.
Usage Wear
If the ear pads are worn out to the point that disrupts comfort, replace them using this guide.
Ear Pads Not Secure on Headphones
Whether or not the earpads are worn out they may fall off unintentionally! To attach them back to the headset following the replacement guide in reverse order will ensure that they are tightly secured onto the headphones.
Talkback Cable Does Not Work
Underlying cause for not being able to adjust volume, cannot hear any audio, or your microphone is not working.
Usage Wear
If audio is cutting in and out, test the headset audio with a different device with a working audio jack. If audio cutting persists the internal wiring may be worn out. Frequent twisting and bending can cause the internal wiring to become damaged causing a loss of audio. Follow this guide to replace the talkback cable.
Loose Or Incompatible Audio/Headphone Jack
Ensure that the device is plugged into a 3.5mm headset jack, which can be found on the following devices.
If audio is cutting in and out, test the headset audio with a different audio jack or an adapter. Audio cutting in and out is commonly a sign of a loose audio jack, so make sure the talk-back cable is fully plugged into the audio jack. If microphone and or speaker audio issues remain the audio jack may be faulty.
Microphone Not Working
The microphone is not picking up any sound and others cannot hear you or is broken.
Device Is Not Charged
Although headphones themselves may not require charging, the device that the headphones are plugged into might. Neglecting to do so may cause a handful of features to fail. To charge the device you are using the headset with please refer to the device manual you intend on using the headset with.
Adjust Microphone Settings
Ensure that the microphone is enabled via the device’s settings before taking any other steps. This can be found through the settings menu on various consoles or devices.
If that is complete, check the in-game settings and turn voice chat ON, or, depending on the game, change the voice chat method to Open Mic or Push-To-Talk back in the Settings Menu. Save these settings.
Faulty Microphone
If adjusting the microphone settings through the device and in-game settings menu does not resolve the issue, the microphone must be replaced via this guide.
Distorted Audio (Pops, Clicks, Crackles, Static, Etc.)
The audio is distorted or makes pops, clicking, static, and more disturbing the listening experience.
Test Headset on Different Devices
Try using the headset with a smartphone or tablet. If you cannot access an alternate device, you can perform this test by following this guide in more detail.
Faulty Speaker
If the headset continues to distort audio on other devices, or the speaker fails to work entirely after initiating other troubleshooting steps, then it must be replaced, therefore, follow this guide.
Audio Only on One Side
Audio is only coming from one side of the headset, leading to audio-only being heard through one ear.
Loose Audio/Headphone Jack
Ensure that the headphone jack is plugged in all the way into your device.
Test Headset on a Different Device
Similar to the troubleshooting for audio distortion, try testing the headset away from the device you intend on using it with. In other words, instead of a console controller, try using the headset with a smartphone or tablet. If you do not have access to an alternate device, you can perform this test by following this guide in more detail.
Faulty Speaker
If the headset continues to play audio on one side when connected to other devices or after initiating other troubleshooting steps, then it must be replaced, therefore, follow this guide.
