Huawei Ascend P6-U06 Troubleshooting

The phone is plugged into a charger, but the phone is not charging.

Sometimes the wall outlet may not be functioning properly. Try charging your phone in a different outlet. If your phone begins charging, then the previous wall outlet was indeed faulty.

The micro-USB cable may be broken due to extended use or disconnected wiring. If you have a back up cable, give it a try.

If the phone is only functioning when plugged in, the phone is not holding a charge. The battery is most likely faulty, and the best course of action is to obtain a new battery and replace the old one.

If the port becomes dirty, it may become unresponsive to the micro-USB cable. Try blowing into the port to remove any dust or particles. If a visible particle is still stuck, try gently dislodging it with a toothpick and then blow into the port again. If the port seems clean after blowing, and your phone still will not charge, you are best off replacing the micro-USB flex cable.

The phone is unable to connect to the internet, wifi, or cellular provider.

Airplane mode will shut off the internet, wifi, and cellular access. You may have accidentally turned airplane mode on while configuring your phone's settings. Make sure airplane mode is turned OFF by going into Settings>Airplane Mode>Off.

Unfortunately, some areas have no internet or cellular reception. Try moving to an area where there would likely be a strong signal, such as a library, restaurant, or store.

No sound is coming out of the earpiece speaker when talking on the phone.

Make sure the phone is not muted, and then turn the volume up. If the volume is not increasing, the button may be jammed because of repeated use. If gently wiggling the button does not free it, there may be an internal problem with the button. The phone will need specialized repair including micro soldering, which is beyond the difficulty level of our guides.

If you cannot hear someone when making a phone call, the earpiece speaker may be damaged or blown out. This can happen if the phone is dropped multiple times, or if it has undergone extensive usage during a phone call. At this point, you should remove, clean, and reinstall or replace the earpiece speaker.

The screen has dead or warped pixels, shows only one or limited colors, or is completely black or offset. However, the touch capabilities may still be functioning.

A bright surrounding area (usually outside) makes a screen much harder to read compared to a dark area. Go into a dark room and turn on the phone. The phone display should be visible if the brightness was turned down. Change the brightness by going into Settings>Brightness.

The phone may have a black screen because the phone is not turned on. If the phone is not turning on after charging, check the battery section of this page.

The Gorilla Glass screen may not be flat on the LCD display, possibly due to debris underneath the screen. Remove, clean, and reinstall the Gorilla Glass screen.

If you have dropped your phone a few times, the Gorilla Glass screen may be noticeably cracked or scratched. Your best option is to replace the screen before you potentially harm yourself or your phone with the broken glass.

If you have dropped the phone or applied too much pressure to the front screen, the LCD display may be damaged. The display may appear warped, making the screen pixilated and difficult to read. Your best bet is to replace the LCD display.

Every photo that is taken ends up being the same black picture.

Some phone cases may not be compatible with the Huawei Ascend P6-U06, even though the case fits. This will cause blockage of the rear-facing camera, creating black or dark pictures. Make sure you have a compatible phone case to fix this issue.

The shutter on the phone may be locked shut. This can happen due to repeated use or if too many pictures were taken in a short amount of time. Your best option is to replace the camera.

Oftentimes, dust or dirt particles accumulate, blocking the lens of the camera. Try removing the camera and then cleaning it with a damp cloth. If the lens is cracked, you will need to replace the camera.

The button has no functionality when pressed.

If too many applications are running at the same time, or the phone is overheating due to extended use, it may freeze up. If the touch screen and the volume button are both unresponsive, try waiting 5-10 minutes for the phone to unfreeze. Next, quit any unnecessary applications that may be running. If your phone does not unfreeze on its own, remove and reinstall the battery to force the phone to restart.

The screen does not respond to touch.
