The Nomad Will Not Power On
The hoverboard does not turn on when the power button is pressed.
Incorrect Button Is Pressed
Some hoverboards automatically turn on when the foot pads are stepped on. To power on the Nomad, ensure you press the power button on the back side of the left footpad and hear the speakers “ping” when turning on.
Low Battery
If the power button is pressed, and the LED on the middle of the Nomad blinks or turns red, the battery is low or dead. Connect the charging cable to the port on the back side of the hoverboard. The LED on the charger will initially light up red and will turn green when the Nomad is fully charged.
Power Button Is Damaged or Disconnected
If the power LED does not light up, and the speakers do not emit any sound after pressing the power button, the button itself is likely disconnected or damaged. You can follow the Power Button Replacement guide to repair it.
The Nomad Will Not Charge
The hoverboard will not charge when plugged into the charger or hold a charge after the hoverboard is unplugged from the charger.
Charging Cable Is Not Connected to the Nomad
If the charging cable is forced into the charging port on the Nomad, the connector can break. Align the charging cable with the port and ensure the connector goes in without noticeable resistance.
Charging Cable Is Not Connected to a Power Source
The cable is plugged into the Nomad correctly, but the indicator light on the charger does not light up. Ensure the charger is plugged into a functioning wall outlet and the charging cable is securely inserted into the charging brick.
Battery Is Damaged or Disconnected
The battery is disconnected from the circuit board or the battery is failing. You can follow the Battery Replacement guide to repair it.
Charging Port Is Damaged or Disconnected
The charging port is or disconnected from the circuit board, or the port is damaged. You can follow the Charging Port Replacement guide to repair it.
The Nomad Will Not Drive in a Straight Line
The Nomad turns when attempting to drive straight forward or backward.
Rocks or Debris Are Stuck in the Wheels
Rocks or debris may be stuck on the wheels, causing them to rotate unevenly. Manually rotate the wheels and remove any visible obstructions to ensure correct operation.
Low Battery
A low battery can cause the two motors to rotate at unpredictable speeds. Ensure the battery of the Nomad is sufficiently charged for correct operation.
Rotation Sensors Are Not Calibrated
The Nomad’s rotation sensors are not be calibrated and must be reset. Use the following steps to ensure your hoverboard is calibrated.
- Set the hoverboard on a flat surface and ensure both sides of the hoverboard are even and at the same height.
- Turn on the hoverboard by pressing the power button on the back side of the left footpad.
- Press and hold the power button on the back side of the left footpad for 10 to 15 seconds, or until the hoverboard beeps and the LED lights flash.
- Release the power button. The hoverboard will beep and flash for 10 to 15 more seconds.
- Turn the hoverboard off by pressing the power button. The hoverboard's rotation sensors are now calibrated.
If the calibration fails, repeat the previous steps.
The Headlights Will Not Light Up
The headlights do not emit light when the Nomad is powered on
Lights Are Dimmed or Powered Off in the HOVER-1 App
- On a phone paired with the Nomad, open the HOVER-1 app.
- If the app is not installed, download the app from the appropriate app store by using the following links.
- Tap the Headlights button on the bottom left.
- Ensure the Power slider in the top right of the page is enabled.
- Ensure the Brightness slider under the color wheel is set to Light.
Phone Is Not Paired with the Nomad over Bluetooth
Your phone is not paired with the Nomad, or your Bluetooth pairing has expired. Use the following steps to ensure the Nomad is paired to your phone:
- First, power on the Nomad. It should play a “ping” noise when it is ready for a Bluetooth connection.
- The phone should be no farther than three feet away from the hoverboard to initiate pairing.
- On iOS devices:
- On your phone, navigate to the Settings app.
- Open the Bluetooth settings menu and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Under Other Devices, tap on the device named HY-NOMD.
- If prompted, enter the pairing code 000000.
- If the Nomad paired with your phone successfully, the Nomad will say “paired.”
- On Android devices version 9.0 or later:
- On your phone, pull down the notification shade from the top of the screen.
- Tap and hold the Bluetooth icon to access Bluetooth settings. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Tap the Pair new device button.
- Tap the device named HY-NOMD.
- If prompted, enter the pairing code 000000.
- If the Nomad paired with your phone successfully, the Nomad will say “paired.”
- On Android devices earlier than version 9.0:
- On your phone, pull down the notification shade from the top of the screen.
- Tap and hold the Bluetooth icon to access Bluetooth settings. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Under Available Devices, tap the device named HY-NOMD.
- If prompted, enter the pairing code 000000.
- If the Nomad paired with your phone successfully, the Nomad will say “paired.”
- If the pairing is unsuccessful, reboot the Nomad and follow the pairing steps again.
Headlights Are Damaged or Disconnected
The headlights are damaged or are disconnected from the circuit boards. You can follow the Headlight Replacement guide to repair them.
Audio Will Not Play through the Speakers
You cannot hear anything when playing audio to the Nomad from your phone.
Phone Audio Is Paused
Many phones pause media audio when they connect or disconnect from a Bluetooth device. Ensure you begin playing audio again after connecting over Bluetooth.
Phone Audio Is Muted
Many phones have a separate volume slider for Bluetooth devices. Turn up media volume after connecting to the Nomad to ensure your audio is not muted.

Speaker Assembly Is Damaged or Disconnected
If the Nomad does not emit any sounds after powering up, the speaker assembly is damaged or is disconnected from the circuit board. You can follow the Speaker Assembly Replacement guide to repair them.

My hover 1 nomad has a constant beep. What is the issue. It has been used twice.

My hover-1 won’t work I turn it on I beeps with it’s red light and the tires are not being powered they just move if you move the hover board I researched everything I removed the tires to see a problem but nothing one tire keeps glowing even if the hover board if off please help me
