Heater will not power on or off

Heater will not show any signs of turning on or off.

Faulty Power Cord, Plug, and Wire Nuts

Make sure the heater is in the upright position. Inspect the plug to see if there are any bent or broken prongs. Check the rest of the cord for cuts or frays. If there are no cuts or frays, plug the cord in to a known working outlet and make sure the plug is fully inserted. Check for heater operation. If the heater still does not operate, you may need to look inside of the heater using the following guide and check the wire nuts for connection. If the heater is still not turning on or off, the cord may need to be replaced using the following Power Cord Replacement Guide .

Heater is not getting hot

Heater is not blowing hot air.

Temperature Set Too Low

Check to make sure the temperature setting is not set too low. A low temperature setting will cause the heater fan to stop spinning which will not produce any heat. Using the display buttons, increase the temperature until the fan starts spinning and heat is produced.

Bad Heating Element

Open the heater using the following guide. Check the wires from the circuit board to the heating element for cracks, breaks, or frays. Check heating coils for broken strands and tension throughout the support brackets.

Bad Thermostat

Check for broken, bent, or frayed wires from the circuit board to the thermostat. Check the thermostat for obvious damages. If wires are bent, broken, or frayed the wires may need to be replaced using the following guide. If damages are apparent, the thermostat may need to be replaced using the Thermostat Replacement Guide.

Controls and indicators don’t work

Heater is plugged in but the buttons are unresponsive or the display is not turning on.

Bad Circuit Board

Open the heater using the following guide. Inspect circuit board for burn or char marks, loose wire connections, loose components, or cracks in the board. For burn or char marks, replace the circuit board using the following replacement guide. For loose components or wire connections, re-solder the connections using the Circuit Board Replacement Guide.

Sticky Buttons

Test the buttons for motion and sound. If no reaction is observed, the circuit board or buttons may need to be replaced using the Control Buttons Replacement Guide.

Fan isn’t spinning

Heater appears to work, but fan is not spinning.

Temperature Set Too Low

Obstructions Inside Heater

Open the heater using the following guide. Make sure the wires inside are not touching or wrapped around the fan blades. Clear all objects or wires from around the heater.

Heater Smells

Heater gives off burning smell.

Dusty Heater

Dust in the heater will cause the heater to smell like it is burning when it is turned on. Inspect your heater for any dust or debris that could be heating up and burning. Wipe off the dust and debris from the heater.

Safety Shutoff

Anti-tip safety shutoff is not stopping the heater.

Obstructed Safety Weight

Tip the heater back and forth and make sure there is an audible clicking sound. If no sound is heard, the safety shut off may need to be replaced using the Safety Weight Replacement Guide.
