Projector not turning on
When pressing the power button on the projector, it does not turn on.
Power supply is not connected correctly
If the power supply is not connected correctly, the projector will not turn on. To connect the power supply correctly, only plug the power cord into an outlet rated for use with the power cord’s specified voltage range. If the voltage range does not match, this can blow a fuse and won’t allow the projector to turn on. Connect the connector of the power cord to the AC inlet of the projector. Once the power cord is correctly plugged into the AC inlet on the projector, you may plug the power cord’s plug into the outlet. If this doesn't work follow this guide to replace the power supply unit.
A Faulty Power Cord is in use
Using a faulty power cord or a cord that did not come with the projector, the voltage range between the power cord and projector could be off, possibly resulting in fire or electrical shock; causing the projector to not work effectively or not turn on. If the original power cord is damaged, instead of using a different cord, contact the dealer to get a new correct power cord.
The Image Quality is Blurry
When the projector is turned on, a blurry/foggy image is projected on the screen rather than a clear image.
Picture Sharpness not adjusted correctly
Navigate to MENU->PICTURE->SHARPNESS using the remote then use the ◀/▶ (left/right) buttons to adjust the sharpness of the image.
The lens is dirty
Carefully remove the lens cap using this guide then using a slightly damp tissue or cloth, wipe any dust/residue off of the front lens.
Projector is Overheating
The projector becomes hot to the touch after being used for an extended period of time.
Air Circulation is blocked
Ensure the device is placed on a clear, clean workspace. Avoid items such as tablecloths, clothing, or other cloth material that are under or on the device. If mounted, make sure the device is free from any clutter in its surrounding. Ensure that the device is not around any heat-producing devices such as a DVD player or heater unit.
Thermal Sensor is not in time with the device
When a device's thermal sensor is not in time with the other device processes, it can cause excessive overheating because the device fan is not spinning at an accurate rate. By investigating and properly cleaning the element in the back of the projector using this guide, this can be avoided.
The Fan and Blower are dirty
The fan and blower mechanism located in the back of the device may need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned. If both of these elements appear faulty, they must be replaced to insure the safety and durability of the device. If this mechanism becomes faulty, it can greatly affect other, larger elements of the device.
The Air Filter is dirty
Turn off the projector and allow it to cool for 45 minutes then turn it so that the lens side is facing up. You can replace the air filter using this guide or follow the steps highlighted here. Unhook the filter cover’s claws, and pull the filter cover in the direction of the arrow. Then hold the air filter’s knob and pull the air filter out. Use the knob of a vacuum to clean the filter and the vent of the projector. Position the clean air filter into place, and push the PUSH mark with claws to fix the air filter. Replace the filter cover and snap it back into place then turn the projector so it’s top facing up. Turn the projector on and reset the filter time using the FILTER TIME function of the OPTION menu.
Audio is Low or Distorted
When the projector is playing video no sound comes out or is muffled.
The Volume Level is too low
Adjust the volume to a higher level by navigating to the menu or using the ▲/▼ (up/down) buttons on the remote control.
Signal Cables are not accurately connected
To restore the volume, correctly connect the audio cables to the selected input port. The audio input ports are: RGB1⇔RGB2⇔COMPONENT⇔S-VIDEO⇔VIDEO. You can switch between these ports using the remote control and pressing the buttons MENU->SETUP->AUDIO then using the ▲/▼ (up/down) cursor buttons to select an input port.
The wrong Audio Setting is selected
Navigate to the SETUP menu by pressing the buttons MENU->SETUP->AUDIO on the remote and select the correct AUDIO setting by selecting the correct input port using ▲/▼ (up/down) cursor buttons and switch between 1⇔2⇔ 🔇(mute button) audio setting with ◀/▶ (left/right) cursor buttons. 1 is low, 2 is high, and the 🔇(mute button) is mute. To turn off WHISPER mode, press MENU->SETUP->WHISPER and use the cursor buttons ▲/▼ (up/down) to switch settings from NORMAL⇔WHISPER.
No Image when Projector is on
When turning on the projector, user may find there is no image or that the lamp is not working, not producing light out of projector to create an image.
The Remote is dead
If batteries are not replaced in remote, it will malfunction leading to the lamp not turning on. To fix the remote, you can replace the batteries and restart the projector. This will allow you to see if image now works and if other issues still linger.
The Lamp is broken
If the lamp breaks due to overuse or an expired replacement date, it will make a loud bang and can have glass lay into lamp housing. Unplug projector, dispose of lamp according to environmental laws, not in trash. Replace lamp carefully using this guide with a new CP-X440 Lamp and reset lamp time. To reset lamp time select RESET on the remote using the ▲ (up) button. Incorrectly resetting lamp timer will result in incorrect messages on the projector; make sure to only reset lamp time once lamp is replaced.
