Turns on & off constantly when in use, I took out the filter & It will keep running but no suction.

Mine did that, too. It might be clogged. Check where the hole to the motor is. Mine was clogged with lint and was difficult to clean. My hose was clean. Works now. What I hate is that the filter on top keeps falling out, and then there is no suction. I taped it down on one side.

DC50. When we use the hose and we turn on the device there is a strong suction which tries to
retract the hose ie. pulling back to the base and a high pitched whistle.

My vacuum stick is 6 months old and has not be used excessively. Today while vacuuming, the motor keeps going on and off? Cleaned everything and no blockages. Ideas?

My Dyson filters are all clean. I turn it on . Makes no noise . It’s hard to push and it’s on the right setting. It won’t move and won’t suck up anything. The light flashes. I check the roller and the carpet height. I’m lost it didn’t start doing this until I bought new carpet. I change the settling but doesn’t help. I love my animal but it doesn’t work right ?

Hi
My dc 14 has lost suction when I free it from the upright position to hover the floor with the brush.
I notice that when I do this the brush assembly tends to pop out, but there is still no suction when I pop it back.
It seems as though the upright bit, the body of the machine, will not move down to as near to the horizontal as it did

My vacuum won’t go all the way upright which makes the suction go through the wand and not the main unit. The brush is still working…I just can’t get it to stand upright. It stops just before it is straight up. What can I try?

The part that switches from the wand back to base is not working. I have to stop the process as the wand will continue to work while trying to vacuum. If I push the piece manually, I can get the base to work, but as soon as I put the wand upright, I have to start over. What part would that be?

After 2 years, my dc14 brush bar stopped spinning. Drive band is intact and travels smoothly when I turn the brush by hand. There are no obstructions and no odd sounds that would indicate any problems. Vacuum works fine otherwise. How do I fix this? Dave at ngc2000@comcast.net
