For some unknown reason, someone at Airwheel decided that there shouldn’t be a ‘factory reset’ button like practically ANY tech product in our time has.

I've setted up a new wifi password in my C5 helmet, but it seems that both the password and the confirmation password were entered identically wrong. So I couldn’t connect to it to change it.

I’ve contacted them and the only way to reset the settings is to do a firmware update.

So here are the the instructions on how to firmware update and factory reset C5 helmet:

Note: You will need a way to access the micro SD card externally, via a card reader or other means.

1. Download this firmware file (updated June 2019) or get a newer firmware from somewhere.
2. Copy the file to the root of the SD card.
3. Make sure the DV is turned off, then insert the SD card and turn the DV ON.
4. The light indicator will flash fast with green light, then it will flash slower for some time and then it’s AUTOMATICALLY shuts OFF. DO NOT TURN IT OFF MANUALLY.
5. Remove the SD card, insert it into a card reader and delete the firmware file.
6. Insert the SD card back to the helmet. That’s it. Helmet is ressetted. You can connect to it via wifi and the default password is 1234567890.
