Troubleshooting
If you are having issues with your Lenovo ThinkPad P50 and need additional information, here is the troubleshooting page. (link)
Background
The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 debuted in the fourth quarter of 2015 as part of a new line of mobile workstations, which also included the P70. Featuring a 15.6-inch display, the P50 was made available via Lenovo's website and through authorized business partners, according to an official press release.
The laptop weighs about 5.6 pounds and comes in a plain black, sturdy chassis. It includes a full-sized backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad, a TrackPoint, and a fingerprint reader. A basic webcam is built in, along with a range of ports located on the sides and back of the device.
The ThinkPad P50 is generally considered reliable, though there have been some reports of issues, including a potential firmware bug related to memory errors. These problems appear to be isolated cases and are not indicative of a widespread manufacturing flaw.
The ThinkPad P50 belongs to the ThinkPad P series, a lineup of business laptops designed with performance in mind. Other models in this series include the ThinkPad P1, P14s, P16s, and P16, as well as earlier iterations like the P51, P52, and P53.
Identification
The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 has a thick(?) body, with the "ThinkPad" identifier on the bottom right of the top cover. To positively identify the device, you can open the device and look for the specifier of "P50" that is written on the bottom right of the screen frame. You can also see that there is a TrackPoint (or red button) in between the G, H, and B keys that all ThinkPads have.
