Background
The Sony Handycam HDR-CX220 was released by Sony in February 2013. This model replaced the previous popular CX190 model. It is a lightweight and small camcorder that has features such as image stabilization, night mode, and high definition. Some reported issues are the zoom control not working, and not powering on with the battery or the AC power cord plugged in.
The 2.39 Megapixel Sony Handycam HDR-Cx-220 records in 1080p on a 2.7" LCD that rotates 270°. The camcorder features USB and HDMI ports. The camera ranges from (1280 x 720 - 30 fps - 6Mbps) to (1920 x 1080 - 60 fps - 28Mbps).
Identification
The Sony Handycam HDR-CX220 comes in black, blue, red, and gray. You can identify your camcorder by the model number printed in white on the side of the device and the model and serial number on a label on the bottom of the device near the tripod mount.
