I think (and I'm sure a Mac expert will correct me if not!) that this iPad is only 32 bit compatible, and most apps on the app store now are 64 bit. So you may well be stuck I'm afraid.

iPadOS 9.xx is quite old and Apple has removed the older Apps within the iOS Apps Store with releases from iOS 15.xx on back. I don't even think you can even upgrade your iPad's iOS at this point to even the last version it could support which is iOS 9.3.6

So while remote if you have a backup of your stuff within iCloud you could still restore from it. You might find some web based Apps which will run under iOS Safari but that's about it.
