What is the current way to isolate the battery?

On Step 25 of the iPad Pro 10.5" Battery Replacement Guide, it says,

However, it doesn’t say what the not outdated way to isolate the battery is. So what is that?

Edit: Can @schnabel address this?
Edit 2: I just noticed this response to this issue at the end of the Guide:

So @arthurshi: Is there any update to this issue? I need to replace my battery ASAP; what tool should I use?

The pick is a bit thick which can damage things with the tension contacts. If you review Step 11 in the guide here iPad Pro 10.5" Battery Replacement.

I personally haven’t done this iPad but I used a cut playing card as it’s stiff and thin enough on a similar model. The key is pressing the card in evenly so you don’t damage the contacts . Just don’t force things!

Can someone update Step 25 with the correct procedure then?

Maybe this is an offshoot that will not work, but I have one of these in my RBT and I would risk it given these things damaging logic board battery connectors. Somehow I have two of them so I see no reason to not try and see if it can be thinned. I'll throw one in my next order most likely if I want two unmodified ones. Would sanding it down to think it work? The catch is I don't have a clunker iPad laying around I can risk for science. The only explanation I have as to why I have two is I probably misplaced it and had to replace it.
