Speaker will not turn on
When the user attempts to power on the speaker by pressing the power button, the speaker does not come on.
Speaker not charged
If the light to your speaker was cutting on prior to the speaker not turning on, it may be caused by the lack of charge. Try charging the charger cable into the micro-usb port on the side of the speaker. The LED light at the bottom of the speaker will display a flashy white glow to indicate the speaker is charging.
Factory Reset
If the speaker refuses to charge it may just have a technical problem that can be easily solved. Press and hold the volume and power buttons down together for around 10 seconds or until you hear a short tone. Now, you should be able to turn it back on.
Faulty Battery
A great reason the speaker stopped working may be that the battery has reached the end of its lifespan. If the speaker still refuses to work after plugging it into a working charger, it may be due to signs of a faulty battery that needs to be replaced using our replacement guide.
Faulty Motherboard
If the speaker doesn’t work using the steps above, it is likely that the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Speaker does not charge
When the user plugs in the speaker to charge it, the device does not recognize it has been plugged in and the power level fails to go up.
Faulty Charger
The problem may not have been due to the speaker itself, but the charging cable connected to it. To check whether the charger is working, try charging a familiar device using the same cable to see if the device charges. If the device does not charge, the cord is more than likely faulty and a new one needs to be bought.
Dirty docking station Port
There could be minor dirt or residue built up within the docking station to prevent charging. This can be cured by using a Q-tip or cotton swab and lightly cleaning the charging port.
Wet Charging Port
Although the UE Megaboom is waterproof, the charging port is not. To allow the port to dry without causing any more harm, let it dry under a shady wind for a few hours.
Update Speaker Software
Connect your MEGABOOM to your device via Bluetooth. Download and install the Mega Boom app on your phone. Then tap more and the update now message to begin updates. Lastly, wait for the update process to complete and then try connecting the charger to the speaker.

Trouble connecting device via Bluetooth
When the user tries to pair their device to the speaker through Bluetooth, the speaker fails to make the connection.
Bluetooth turned off
The speaker will not be able to connect to the mobile device unless it is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Press and hold the speaker’s Bluetooth button for 3 seconds. It will enter pairing mode, make a sound, and flash its Bluetooth LED while searching for another device.
Speaker Muted
If the volume on the connected device is not turned up, no sound will be audible from the speaker. Turn the device's media volume up until sound can be heard.

Re-pair Speaker to Bluetooth
Press the Bluetooth pairing button, then look for the speaker to pop up on the available devices list in Bluetooth page on your device.
Distance to the speaker
The mobile device must be within a 150 feet radius to connect with the speaker. Move the speaker closer to the device it is connected to.
Too many devices connected
The UE Boom Speaker only supports up to eight Bluetooth-enabled source devices, connecting to two source devices at the same time. Please note that the speaker may automatically connect to devices it has been paired with before, make sure to turn Bluetooth off on devices you are not trying to pair to the speaker. If you are trying to connect to a new device, but already have eight devices connected, perform a factory reset to clear the speaker’s memory.
Speaker audio is distorted
The quality of sound of the speaker has deteriorated from how it was intended to perform.
Distance to the speaker
The mobile device must be within a 150 feet radius to connect with the speaker. Move the speaker closer to the device it is connected to.
Low Battery
The battery of the speaker is what may be causing the sound distortion. Charge the speaker up to ensure it has enough charge.
Factory Reset
First turn on the speaker by pressing the power button. Next press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds or until you hear a short tone. Then release the buttons. Lastly, turn on the speaker by pressing the power button once.
Re-pair device to the speaker
Press the Bluetooth pairing button, then look for the speaker to pop up on the available devices list in Bluetooth page on your device.
Micro-USB Port does not work
When plugging a device connecting to the speaker using the auxiliary port the speaker does not recognize the connection and fails to play sound being provided from the device.
Micro-USB port cleaning
The micro-USB port could be caused by dirt or residue built up. Use air or a pick to clean out the port.
Reconnect cord
Many times, this may be because by the port not being plugged in all the way or something wrong with the positioning of the plug. Lightly pull the cord out of the port and wait a minute before plugging the cord back into the port.
Faulty Micro-USB port

On my Megaboom it keeps making a “woo” noise every ~5s, this interrupts any music being played. When it does occurs the BT LED reports Red. The battery is reported at 100%. It keeps doing this with nothing connected to the BT. Have tried factory reset - no improvement….
