HTC Touch Pro 2 Troubleshooting

When the charger is plugged into the phone and power supply, the phone does not charge.

The charger that you used to try and charge your phone may be bad. Try using a different charger, that you know works, to attempt to charge your phone. If your phone still does not charge, then the battery itself may need replacing. (see guide here)

Your battery may be dead and need replacing. First, start by testing out your battery by putting it into another HTC Touch Pro 2 that you know works. If the phone does not turn on, then plug the phone into a charger that you know works. If it still does not turn on, then your battery is dead and needs to be replaced. Alternatively, you can test the battery by using a voltmeter and test the charge on the battery itself. If the voltage readout on the voltmeter is similar to the voltage the battery holds, then your battery is still good. (the voltage of the battery should be listed on the battery itself). The housing of your phone is chipped, cracked, or broken.

You want to remove the old or damaged housing to replace it with a new housing. (see guide here)

After you have removed the old housing, you want to install the new housing on the phone. (see guide here)

Your SIM card is unresponsive, your old SIM card is full and you want to put another one in, or you just got a new phone and want to put your old SIM card in it.

You want to remove your SIM card. (see guide here)

You want to insert a new SIM card into your phone. (see guide here)

You are not able to turn your phone on or off.

Your phone may need to be reset for your power button to work again. (see guide here)

The key on your logic board that is pressed to turn on the power may be broken. In this case, the logic board should be replaced. (see guide here)

The camera is cracked or broken and no longer usable.

If your camera is no longer functioning correctly due to physical damage, you may want to try replacing the camera lens. After removing the phone's housing, remove the camera. (see guide here)

After removing the broken camera from your phone, install new lens into camera housing. (see guide here)

There are no images on the screen.

It is possible that the LCD display screen is no longer working or is cracked. If you have already tested the battery and keyboard then the LCD screen may need to be replaced. (see guide here)

The logic board could be faulty, resulting in the phone no longer working. If you have already tested the battery and keyboard, then the remaining option is that the logic board is defunct and needs to be replaced. (see guide here)

No matter what you do, you can't get your HTC Touch Pro 2 to turn on.

It is possible that your phone's battery is out of charge, or is worn out and needs replacing. First, try charging the cell phone. It is a good idea to charge the cell phone on a charger that is known to work (i.e. one that works while charging another phone) so that you can be sure the charger is not the problem. If the phone does not charge, the battery might need to be replaced (see guide here).

It is possible that the power button on the keyboard is non-responsive. Normally, this would happen gradually, and you would be able to notice the button wearing out or responding less over time. If this is not the case, and the phone has not been dropped or damaged in a manner that could affect the keyboard, this is likely not the problem. If the keyboard is the problem, it needs to be replaced. (see guide here)

The logic board could be faulty, resulting in the phone no longer working. If you have already tested the battery and keyboard, then the remaining option is that the logic board is defunct and needs to be replaced. (see guide here
