Player won't turn on
The device does not react to any user input, and stays dark.
Hold button is switched
Make sure the hold/power switch is in the middle position.
Device is not charged
The battery might be dead; try charging it for at least 30 minutes.
Battery dead
If the battery does not charge, the battery might not be working, and should be replaced.
Shorted circuitry
If replacing the battery with one that is known to work does not fix the problem, the main motherboard may be damaged, and should be replaced.
Malfunctioning Display
The screen shows one or more distinct dark or discolored spots.

If your device has small squares that are dark while the rest of the display is fine, you may have dead pixels. The simplest fix for this is replacing the LCD display.

I dropped my X-Fi and now the screen is blank. It’s lit up, but it’s bright white. The player performs perfectly except for the screen being bright white. Any suggestions? I love this little player and hate to give up on it (though it plays fine, it’s hard to navigate without the display working).

My zen x-fi won't power up and show an amber light on the power light then it stay red but the screen also stays black.
