Brother PT-1010 Troubleshooting

Tried new batteries, & 4 different label cartridges, shows the printed label info on screen, but prints so light for part of it, you cant read it.

my machine dosen't come on ever with new batteries what do i do ca someone repair it

I own a home & hobby III and i put the tape in correctly and when i print the tape doesn't come out when the tape is new.

I have upgraded all the newest versions and now cannot find my original labels. Looks like the all disappeared. bbailey

I have a brother P-touch 80 and when i turn it on "SLD X" comes up on the screen, and then none of the buttons work I cant even turn it off. How do I fix this?

Mine stopped charging. Got new charger and new battery an still same way. Other than that its still working fine. Anybody got a fix for it?

A white pc from the machine fell out. Unsure where it goes.

Check to make sure label length set to auto. Mine was set to 12 inches that is why it printed out blank. I saw 2 miniscule black dots on blank tape , this indicated to me it was still working. Changed length to auto, viola. Printing again.

I have tried to clean the circuit board where the buttons press down. Some of them got to work again but the middle row of buttons still do not respond when pressed. Not sure if it is the rubber keyboard that needs to be replaced.

P-Touch E550W seems not to be feeding the tape,

Cutting at the start abd the end works but no tape seems to be coming out of the unit

I have a Brother P-Touch for home and hobby s The tape ended and I changed that with ease, but when I turned it back on it said “error”. I tried backing up the words on it but they seem to be repeating. I’m going to get new batteries in hopes that , that will remedy the problem. Wish me luck!

I inserted 6 new batteries and still machine won’t turn on

how do i get a sticker off the roll inside the machine. the last sticker on a roll ended up sticking and rolling it self tight to the feed roller.

When I press the “R” key I get a “T”.

The labels that I’m trying to print arent at all sticky, what should I do?

I have fresh batteries and plenty of tape in mine. The button pressing, display etc works as it should until I hit print. The unit just shuts off. I can’t find any info on how to fix this issue. It was working fine just a month ago. Could it be too old? I’ve had it since 2005.

I started to pull apart the keyboard and it fixed itself. I think a button was stuck

white background label (black font on white background) does not dispense so printed label is black characters on clear background. Tried two different “white” label cartridges with the same results for each cartridge. It appears to me the drive spindle (red plastic) for the white background carrier is depressed/pushed down in the tape cassette area and is therefor not engaging/advancing the white tape.

Could you please explain (in diagrams or pictures) how to reload a previously jammed tape?

Sometimes the ink prints perfectly, but lately it’s been printing where it’s so faint. How do I fix this?

My display is blank. The printer actually works just fine. I'm just blind until I press print, then if I misspelled something, I have to clear and do it over again. No ideas on getting a blank display working again?

i want to know how to make the letters bigger. becouse when i put it on max with a long letter it makes it super small but with like ne letter it makes it really big. does someone know how to fix it?

Replacing the batteries with brand new batteries does nothing. That's their only solution! Horrible product and horrible customer service.

I have a message in the display board that reads ROM PROBLEM! Do you know what that means and can I fix it? It’s a PTouch 1800.

I'm getting the impression this is poor quality. Mine will not stay on. Tried to get to next menu link, it turns off.

If the label is not coming out properly in the machine, what part could it be?

It is a "button" battery and these are the instructions from Brother on how to replace it.

Put in new batteries, and still won't turn on.

I have had success cleaning the battery contacts with a Q-Tip and 70% isopropyl alchohol. Don't get it too wet. I also clean the contacts on the batteries even though they are new. I have two P-Touch printers and 3 or 4 power supplies and no combination of AC adapters and printers works any more. I have tested the polarity and voltage and it is correct on all of them. I noticed that the new P-Touch printers I have looked at no longer come with AC adapters. I suspect that there are problems with the power supply circuit boards.

I disassembled both of my printers and neither had a back-up battery (refering to my earlier post on November 15).

P-Touch H107: not printing, only blank labels coming out

I have a P-Touch H107 which is mainly similar to the PT-1010. All of a sudden this P-Touch didn't print any text on the label anymore.

I have two of these printers. They were behaving as if they had a memory back-up battery or capacitor that was failing so I took one apart and did not find one to replace. I cleaned the battery contacts and replaced the batteries, checked the AC adapters and replaced them, being certain they were the same voltage and polarity. One of them now works, but only if you keep in plugged in. The other only works when it has brand new batteries. It appears that the new printers no longer come with an AC adapter, but only work with batteries. I am currently using the larger printer of the two, but I keep it plugged in all the time. If I don't, it won't turn on until it has been plugged in for a while (a couple of hours, maybe). Right now my man complaint is how much tape is wasted every time I print a label! I tried adjusting the margins etc and even tried "Daisy Chain" but it stills wastes as much tape as it uses. Fortunately there are cheaper, generic tapes available and so far they seem to be good quality
