The laptop will not power on when opened or when pressing the power button.

• Make sure that the adapter is plugged into the laptop. If it is, check that the adapter light is turning on. If it isn't, then the cable is likely faulty and it should be replaced.
• Try a combination of plugging the adapter into another computer and into another outlet. If these do not solve the problem, the cable must be replaced. If the adapter works with another computer and with the same outlet, the charging port on your laptop is faulty.

• After verifying that the adapter is not the problem, move on to checking if the battery is at fault.
• Remove the battery from the laptop, and attempt to power on the laptop while it is plugged in. If this solves the issue, then the battery is faulty and must be replaced.

If the keys are unresponsive in some way, or key presses are not registered.

• If a certain key is unresponsive, it may only be necessary to clean the individual key. If it is only an individual key, try taking the button off the keyboard and cleaning out any residue that may be there.

• Replacing the entire keyboard is necessary after exhausting the step for cleaning out keys that are unresponsive. If one or many keys are still not responding to being pressed, replacing the entire keyboard is required.

If the trackpad does not respond to movement or the buttons do not respond to being clicked.

• If the trackpad is not responding to movement, check to see if the ribbon cable has become dislodged. If not, it may necessary to replace the entire trackpad and ribbon cable. If the cable has in fact become dislodged, try reconnecting it and testing the trackpad again.

• If either of the buttons (left-click or right-click) are unresponsive, check the connection of the ribbon cable under the trackpad. If the cable is connected and still unresponsive, the entire trackpad and ribbon cable must be replaced. If the cable is disconnected, try connecting it and re-testing the buttons.

The computer has become noticeably slower.

• If the computer has become noticeably slower, it is possible that you may not have enough RAM. If you run out of RAM, increasing the amount that you have installed will help your computer to be more efficient.
• If you get the infamous "blue screen of death" or you have noticed a number of files becoming corrupt, it is possible that the installed RAM stick is faulty and must be replaced.

Files becoming corrupted or read-only, computer crashes during boot.

• If there are files on your computer that cannot be read or cannot be written to, this is a sign of a failing SSD, and it will need to be replaced soon.
• If the PC won't boot up (Operating System will not load), this is also a sign that the SSD is failing and will need to be replaced.
