Is Wii drives keyed
Is a Wii drive board also keyed like the Xbox and PS3 drive boards or can I just replace the board with another Wii's drive board?

It appears there are issues with mixing older model wii board with newer ones. Check wikipedia under "drivechip issues". I unfortunately can't find mention of dates that the various changes and update happened. I would say that if the Wiis you have were made within a couple years of each other, it should be a safe transplant.
