Actually I just did this and it wasn’t too hard. New basic Black and Decker toaster oven that cost $40. Took out enough screws to allow front panel to pull out about ½” on the top edge. There was a bell on the back side of the timer knob switch that I could see when I looked down inside. Seems like that is pretty standard for these contraptions. I drove a 3” screw from the top down between the bell and the switch so it’s snug. i made sure it was out of the way of other electrical contacts for the other switches/knobs. Now it just makes a sort of self-satisfied click when the timer is done. Put the screws back in and heated up some chicken nuggets without letting everyone in the neighboring studios know lunch was ready. Yay!
