Why has my display gone dark?
I have a Bose Wave Radio that is about 15 years old. It is just the radio w/o the CD player. My screen has gone dark. I don't know if the screen itself is bad or just the back lighting.

Hi John,
This link shows the refurbishment of a Bose AWR1-1W. It describes the replacement of the electrolytic capacitors in the radio. Of special interest to you may be the ones mentioned which are connected with the display board.

This next link I'm not so sure about. It is the circuit diagrams for a Bose Wave Radio 1996. Whether it is relevant to your model I don't know but perhaps it may be close and therefore give you some idea where to look, especially around the display area. Usually manufacturer's tend to keep the circuit reasonably the same for a model over a number of years. This image is taken from the circuit diagram found in the link above. It may assist you in finding your problem. As explained, I do not know if it is the correct circuit
Don't know if it is helpful or not but you never know.
