Laptop Sluggish While Working on 3D Game Animations – Anyone Faced This?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been running into a bit of a headache lately—my laptop slows down like crazy whenever I’m working on 3D game animations, especially when using tools like Unity or Blender. It’s making the whole workflow really frustrating.
I’ve already done the usual clearing up disk space, updating drivers, disabling background apps, etc.—but it still struggles during animation previews or when importing complex rigs.
Anyone else dealt with this kind of slowdown during game dev work? Is it just my hardware not keeping up, or are there optimizations I’m missing? Also, random thought: has anyone explored wearable tech or some kind of AI tools to monitor or improve dev performance? Maybe something that could give real-time feedback or adjust system usage automatically?
Would appreciate any tips or insights especially from other devs working on animation-heavy projects.

I have been having a bit of a struggle with my laptop lately. It’s been running super slow, and it's really affecting my workflow. I'm not sure what’s causing the lag. I’ve tried the usual fixes like clearing cache, deleting unnecessary files, and even running a virus scan, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone else faced similar issues? If so, how did you resolve it?
I’m curious if integrating such tech could potentially help in diagnosing and preventing the kinds of slowdowns I’m experiencing with my laptop. Also, if anyone knows of any specific wearable applications OR tech that can help with laptop maintenance or productivity, I'd love to hear about them.
What are your thoughts on using wearable tech to enhance our daily tech interactions? Do you think it could help with issues like laptop performance, or do you have any other tips to speed up a slow laptop?
Looking forward to your insights!

I wanted to remove the motherboard due to something going wrong when modding my Fire, i found out i had to short some pins. But when i removed the back cover, i found out the pins were on the other side. Found screws, i unscrewed them, only to realize i was unable to take the board out. This tablet was taken apart a few times by repair people but not myself, and i don't want to damage anything. Help would be appreciated.
Well turns out guys i just had to disconnect everything. I was attempting the removal with the display and digitizer connectors still attached, but now i disconnected them and the board came out successfully.

I have colored horizontal lines on my Roku 50” 4K Smart TV (onn. [wasn’t a device option]
Some lines are stationary, while other flicker between vibrant and faint
They show up better on certain (usually brighter) colors
And are faint and barely visible on other, (usually darker) colors
As for solid colors…
On Red, the lines are blue and yellow.
On Pink the lines are blue yellow and a bit of white
On orange the lines are blue and yellow
On green the lines are blue and red with a bit of fainter grey
On blue the lines are dark red (almost black) and yellow
on yellow the lines are red green and blue
On purple the lines are cyan and dark red
When watching tv or playing games, they are usaully not that noticeable but when you notice it, it becomes very annoying.
What causes this? And most importantly how do I fix this? (Or can I?)

Hi everyone, I recently went to a third-party repair shop to replace the broken screen on my Pixel 7 Pro. I paid for a so-called “original” screen the shop claimed to purchase for me, but the quality was obviously poor—there were thick black borders and the display looked worse than before.
I returned the next day to have the screen removed. During the screen removal, I took a photo of the internal structure of my phone and noticed a small piece of transparent plastic film above the sensors area.
I checked teardown images of Pixel 7 Pro on iFixit, and this plastic film doesn’t seem to be part of the original design. I also contacted Google official CS and they told me there shouldn't be a plastic film. This makes me wonder if the technician may have added or modified something during the first repair.
Would really appreciate any insight!
(The phone is closed now as I later bought an original screen myself and asked another shop to install it. New screen is ok. However, I just observed this plastic film when scrolling through my album. I feel confused why this area is different to the teardown image from iFixit.)

Besides cleaning the scroll wheel if it's dirty, I don't think there's much you can do physically. However, you might be able to adjust your PC's settings to scroll further.
I'm using Windows 11 but the steps are probably similar for Windows 10. Sorry if you're on Mac.
Open the "Settings" app, click on "Bluetooth & devices" on the left side, click on "Mouse", and under the "Scrolling" section adjust the "Lines to scroll at a time" slider. Test your mouse on a browser or something until you are happy with the setting.
