Lubrication

  • As we've said before, use nothing but specialist clock oil.

  • Each of the pivot holes in the front of the front plate and the back of the back plate is surrounded by a little well. This retains the oil by surface tension. Add a tiny drop to each one.

  • Do not attempt to oil the escapement platform. In a good quality clock this will have jewelled bearings. They are not likely to need cleaning or lubricating, and the method of doing so is different and much harder.

Lubricación

Como hemos dicho antes, utilice únicamente aceite especial para relojes.

Cada orificio de pivote en la parte delantera y trasera de la placa frontal está rodeado por un pequeño pozo. Este retiene el aceite por tensión superficial. Añada una pequeña gota a cada uno.

No intente engrasar la plataforma de escape. En un reloj de buena calidad, esta tendrá cojinetes de rubí. No es probable que necesiten limpieza ni lubricación, y el método para hacerlo es diferente y mucho más complejo.
