  • The display now opens from the right edge, perhaps making repairs easier for the lefties in the crowd. High five!

  • iPhones have opened from the opposite side ever since the 7. Before that, the 5 and 6-series models opened bottom-to-top. Before that, iPhones opened after a near-total disassembly.

  • It's a bit wonky trying to remove the connector shield with the screen still attached, but you can maneuver the screen to make more room for the screwdriver.

  • On the plus side, we get this super cool mirrored photo.

Das Display öffnet sich nun von der rechten Seite her, was Reparaturen für Linkshänder vielleicht etwas einfacher macht. Cool!

Seit dem iPhone 7 wurden iPhones immer von der anderen Seite her geöffnet. Die Modelle der 5er und 6er Serie wurden von unten nach oben geöffnet. Und davor, ließen sich iPhones erst dann öffnen, wenn sie fast ganz zerlegt waren.

Es ist eine etwas wackelige Angelegenheit, die Steckerabschirmung abzulösen, während das Display noch befestigt ist. Aber das Display kann so manövriert werden, dass genug Platz für den Schraubendreher ist.
