Will not boot after replacing charging port
I replaced the charging port on my kid's SM-T500 A7 10.4 tablet and afterwards the device does not boot. I confirmed the battery charges when plugged in by using a power monitor on the tablet charger; it is drawing ~8.8 watts. I also plugged it into my computer which recognizes the device as being plugged in via the Device Manager showing a "Samsung Mobile USB Composite Device" but nothing in file explorer.
I have tried resetting all cables including the charging port and I have tried the Vol Down + Power with no luck. The screen does not show the charging logo while plugged in. If it is turning on but the screen is not working I would expect it to register as being on in my Family Link app, show on the wifi network, and show as a device to explorer on my windows laptop but none of those are occurring.
I believe this means it is not booting and I am unsure of the next step to take. Going to a repair shop is a no go due to the cost vs age of this device. Could the motherboard or screen need to be replaced? How could I know which if either?
