A1706 / EMC 3071—Released in November 2016, this 13" Macbook Pro introduces the OLED Touch Bar. Features a dual-core "Skylake" Intel Core i5 CPU and four Thunderbolt 3 ports.

1x Antenna cable would not reattach

I recently replaced the screen on my MacBook Pro (for the 2nd time).

During reassembly, I could only get 2 out of the 3 tiny antenna connectors to seat correctly.

I decided to chance it and booted it up as is. Both Wifi and Bluetooth worked fine; so my question is;

  • What will be broken because one antenna connector is not plugged in?

Missing an antenna means missing a MIMO path, both range and throughput will be impacted.

Thanks... that makes sense. Will this impact affect both Wifi and Bluetooth? I assume yes, but thought I'd check.

@mrtimshel - MIMO is a WiFi standard as such only effects your WiFi if it was the second WiFi antenna that you left off. If you damaged the Bluetooth then the lack of a proper antenna reduces its range as only the antenna connection stub is acting as your antenna limiting its range.
