my internal microphone stopped working, can I replace it?
I did remove the display and did not cover the microphone hole since I've not applied the adhesive strips yet, I also believe the microphone is connected properly, is a small connector on the bottom of the logic board.

By chance did you remove the display assembly? Often when I hear this it is the application of the adhesive strips blocking the microphone hole. Review Step 14 in this guide iMac 27" 2017 Adhesive Strips Replacement.
If the mic has failed see if the logic board connection just needs to be reseated. Reference Step 52 from this guide iMac 27" 2017 Blade SSD Replacement if that fails then you might need a new mic iMac 27" Retina 5K Microphone (17-19) from TheBookYard in the UK.

You appear to have the 2020 model as that has a different microphone cable setup if the image is your system iMac 27" Retina 5K Microphone (20). Reference Step 50 from this guide iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display 2020 Logic Board Replacement I see you’ve put the tapes on double check the mic hole as it’s very easy to block. If the sound is muffled that’s the issue
