New battery screw holes don’t line up

I ordered a battery fo a 2011-2012 battery. The holes that hold the battery in are off by a hair or two. Do I need a different battery?

I would use a small round file to debur the hole. The plastic sometimes deforms when cooling.

I've experienced this issue before due to variations in the battery plastic. In most cases, I was able to get the longer screw closest to the battery connector to screw in by lining up the hole with the screw well as much as possible, inserting the screw into the battery hole while pushing it down and twisting it. If you can get that screw to screw in properly, you should be able to get the other shorter screw in afterwards. Good luck!

I’ve found forcing the fit can create stress in the plastic which over time will fracture! It’s better to fix the holes alignment with a file or drill. I find a drill tends to just increase the diameter which then thins the wall. Reaming the hole so the tight side is made more oval is the better.
