Help identifying MacBook 16" 2019 Torn Ribbon Cable by right fan

Attempting to clean my laptop of dust last night (it needed it desperately.) Put it back together and the ribbon on the right side of the right fan tore straight off. Laptop won't turn on now. I'm not sure if I missed something else or if not having that cable will make it non-responsive. I assume due to it's proximity it has something to do with the fan but am not sure.

Hopefully this part is sold? See image below

That cable is the keyboard backlight connection you can see it here in Step 50 in this guide MacBook Pro 16" 2019 Battery Replacement. Here’s an image of the case part with the cable marked.

As you can see it’s not a replaceable cable as it’s part of the backlight sheet unit. At least that is replaceable on its own. The bad part Apple doesn’t offer it as a FRU on its own. You’ll need to get the case assembly in some form to salvage the part. Here’s one option MacBook Pro 16" (2019) Upper Case Assembly

Thank you! I think it's not worth $300 to me to just have the backlight as it mostly sits docked anyways.

Any idea if this cable not being plugged in could cause the machine to not power on? Or is it more likely I missed something someplace else?

@matthewprotzman - That I can’t answer as I never encountered or tested that.

To be clear I’m sure you can find another option than the iFix it part. You’ll need to spend a bit of effort searching for a cheaper option.

I would go back following the same steps seeing what was missed. If your sure then it’s likely something I would fix.
