A1708/EMC 3164 — Released June 2017, this entry-level MacBook Pro retains its traditional function keys (as opposed to the OLED Touch Bar).

Screen lines vertical and horizontal even on external display

I have a macbook pro 2017 non-touch bar.

Today I started up with all these screen lines and glitches. Until now i tried to reset pvram and smc but not worked at all. Even I tried to "safe boot" or diagnostic tool from apple but not detect anything an the problem still goes.

Please someone can help me!!

Thanks so much,

Hi

If it’s showing it on a external display that would lead us to believe that your gpu is failing but on onboard graphics that’s very very rare

I would ether update it or bring it to a apple store just in case it’s a known software issue

But if we diagnose it and it’s the gpu you will probably have to replace the logicboard as replacing the cpu(gpu is part of it) really isn’t practical for anyone who isn’t doing these sorts of repairs frequently

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)
