Given the series you may not have the recovery partition and Internet recovery may not be possible as this series original firmware doesn’t offer it only after its been upgraded will it work.
The best way to get your self going here is to create a bootable OS installer USB thumb drive. Download Sierra installer from here: How to get old versions of macOS The follow this guide How to create a bootable macOS Sierra installer drive
I don’t recommend going to High Sierra as the file system will be upgraded to APFS from HFS+ during the OS installer. APFS doesn’t run as well as HFS+ on SATA based drives.

Do you want to install the operating system that came with this computer or the newest OS that this computer is compatible with?

You can hit ⌘+Option+R and press the power button to open internet recovery. Then, you can go to Disk Utility to erase the SSD. Once finished, click on the text at the top that says "Disk Utility" and quit Disk Utility. Then, you can reinstall MacOS from there by clicking "Install MacOS"
