I’ve forgotten my password :( is there anyway back into the system?

Looking for a way to get back into my old iMac - I think it’s this model…

I have managed to get to a point where it shows my drive but no backup as shown in other videos?

Alternative I would like to completely reset so I can get rid. Any help would be awesome!

Sorry ;-{ The older G series iMac's don't offer recovery services like the newer Intel models.

You’ll need the Grey Installer/Utilities DVD disk that came with the system as you need to boot up under it to get to the menu listing from there you can select Reset Password from the menu listing.

Would Retail media not work, even from a site like archive.org on DL DVDs?

@nick - Chicken and egg problem! Need a Mac system to create the bootable DVD disk. Here we don't have an accessible Mac system as its locked.
