How to check the battery health status of apple battery case?
Bought a used apple battery case for iPhone XS Max over eBay in order to extend the battery life on my iPhone. It does charge the built-in battery and extent the battery life a bit, however, I can’t see its status from my iPhone at all(only the built-in battery shown up) though I see people demoed theirs on YouTube which does have its charging status shown on their iPhone screen (it shows two batteries, one from the case and one from the built-in). The iOS on my phone is: 14.4.2, does anyone know how to have it shown on the phone or did I miss anything here?
Thanks,

Sounds like you got a knockoff unit. Can you post some pics so we can check what you have. Make sure they are detailed and in focus Adding images to an existing question

I'm also wondering if it's a knockoff. How does the box look? Did it come in an official apple box?

It does come with the Apple box. Upon further checking its serial number from the case, I noticed it is different from the one printed on the box. I will initiate return process on Ebay now. By the way, is there a circumstance that Apple smart battery case failed or to be recognized on IOS even it is authentic?

@lovecd considering you bought it from eBay and the serial number don't match, I would assume you either bought a knockoff or a bad case. Hence why I tell customers to not buy accessories or apple parts from them. They may say "genuine" in the description but more often than not, they're either broken or knockoffs.
