Recently I started seeing two dark spots, one each side of just above thecenter of my photos - spots visible when the background is light-colored (eg, the sky). Not sure what component of the camera is causing this problem, but I’ve only had the camera for 18 months and would like to fix it.

Something is easier on the lenses and very large, ( dust dirt etc) or smaller but on the sensor, check the lease first, give it a clean. otherwise the guide below will let you clean the inside. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX90V Lens Replacement

Mh, but this all seems to be an integrated part (lens, sensorchip) - so how to find the dust and clean it?

I confess that I took the camera to a local repair shop in Santa Cruz, and they took it apart and cleaned the innards. Spots are gone (but I cannot say “I fix it”)

Have the same issue at a WX500. Guess internals are simular. But according to this manual I have finally one block of lens/chip - nothing I can clean, right?
