After battery replacement trackpad does not click.

Hi!

I've went through tutorial to replace battery in MacBook Pro 2014 15” that can be found here.

MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2014 Battery Replacement

After reassembly the trackpad is not clicking. As of now I set the Tap To Click setting, but when it comes to selecting text or working with photoshop, it's kind of pain.

The only solution would be the tension screw, that is placed bellow battery (that I've currently installed.. that's no good, don't want to mess with battery since I would probably ruin it on the way out)

Do I have any other options? I've also done the reset of SMC and PRAM. Which is not helping, I am assuming the tension screw is the solution here.

Anyway you might add to the tutorial that users should check the trackpad clickability before putting new battery with glue into place.

Anyway I am happy with the product and delivery and everything, you guys are excellent!

Thanks for any kind of help.

Sorry ;-{ The adjustment screw is it. As you just put the battery in you should be able to lift it (only the middle is needed.

thanks for answer, I will try but there is connector that connects all the battery parts running at the bottom part of the battery that is covering the screw.. whats even more as far as I remember there is metal cover between trackpad and battery, thus making it impossible to access with battery installed.

It's only a thin plate. I've cut a hole to get to it.

Does the trackpad make a click sound when you push it?

I might try reseating the trackpad connector, and checking it for debris. It’s very likely though that it is the trackpad screw.

thanks for reply, no trackpad does not make any click sound that means no problem in connector. it should click, this is mechanical version.

never mind, I set 3 fingers drag.. phew.. but be happy at least to write this into tutorial so other people won't do the same mistake.

Glad to gear that you found a workaround that's suitable for your needs.

Suggesting an edit to the tutorial for that issue sounds like a great idea!

When I replaced my battery I simply left the battery in its cover because messing with the trackpad is almost a certainty and I never want to contend with that adhesive mess again in my life
