Not starting after battery replacement

Hi, I followed this link - - - > MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2014 Battery Replacement

I have all the tools and an anti static mat but after going through this 3 times my Mac will not boot. I get an amber light on the Magsafe charger, if I SMC reset the light goes to green but the Mac simply will not start. No fans no display , nothing.

Any ideas please?

Can you post some high res pictures of the area around the battery connector and the area around the PCH (The Large Chip to the left of the battery connector. Ive had quite a few of these come in my shop with resistors knocked off right under the PCH after having a battery replacement done, causing it not to power on.

Can you disconnect the battery and try to start your laptop from charger only with battery disconnected? You want to rule out a bad battery.

  1. Remove both the battery and the charger
  2. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds
  3. Re-connect the charger while holding the power button, keep holding the power button for 10 more seconds
  4. Re-connect the battery, try powering up your computer if it has not done so itself already.

This worked for my friend when he got no power after a battery replacement on his MBP. Hopefully this works for you too.

Can you start a MacBook if you just disconnect the battery from the motherboard with its connector and leave the back cover off ? I changed the battery for a new one and all I get is a MagSafe with orange light and the Mac won’t start up at all. Tried sec reset and all key combinations to start up … no effect … if I can get some help it would be great !
