Bypass power supply to plug on 12v
Hi,
I would like to plug my mac on a 12V network on a boat.
I know how to create the voltage and current needed, but I don"t know what 's needed !?
To do so, I am desperately looking for the description of the PSU DC output strip, just like this example :
PSU model found is 661-7512 or ADP 185 BFT
This way, i can just bring the needed voltage and current to each input pin of the motherboard and power the mac on.
Thank you in advance for your help!
(question 2: there are 3 strips : a DC output, a AC output, and a PSU command (ON/OFF) according to the PSU replacement guide of this website. ). What 's the AC output for ???) thx)
Julien

Once you alter the system you won't be able to get anyone to fix it. Best to stick with the inverter & UPS setup. Generators are noisy and don't offer a clean enough voltage to go the direct DC route.
