I love a challenge however if you go this route you don't have to get into your iMac there's only two wires you have to hook up on the boat and that's the wire of your self a cigarette lighter style 12 plug-in (If one doesn't already exist). I would recommend purchasing a power inverter with ample wattage rating that is well above the rating for your iMac, Power inverters are cheap better to have too much tonight use it.
