Someone's about to hit their 10k. Kinda like a birthday around here
Good so far. That link assumes a formatted drive. How can he do that? Does he need anything? How should it be formatted? MS DOS or what?
@mayer I thought that was covered in the middle section labeled "Erase your startup disk, if necessary."
You are correct, my bad ;-)
Will your Dad allow me to send you an older iMac for educational purposes? Also as an award for if you reach 10,000 rep points. I am, after all Pastor Richard Mayer. I know you have probably been taught not to accept gifts from strangers, but I'm not a stranger anymore and I have several of them just sitting. I do have a reputation on this site and he can Google me to see what other people think of me. Just Google Mac Repair and Lubbock.
Here's what I got. Some pretty interesting stuff

Your link is better, but I prefer the manufacturer's site whenever possible.
Yours is great. You did a good job. Let's see what uncle says
Wait, I thought @mayer and @oldturkey03 where the grandfathers of fix.

In Hawai'i saying uncle or auntie is a sign of respect. They're our seniors as well as our teachers

You're a good hider. I can seem to find anything...on your personal life...on the web...
I hope I can meet you in person one day, Mayer. Your a great guy.
Usually I'm pretty good at this. Found Rany in seconds
@pccheese talk with the parents about the unconference. It's months away. That's plenty of time for planning. Also you're 13. Trust me, there's plenty of time for all these things
This is one of the images I get when googling your name:
Oh, yeah. Cheese. Check this thing out. You'd have to save up, and I don't know if it's as good as my amscope. But this could be worthy investment if you got a summer job @pccheese

For microsoldering? How much?
I think it's $200. Not sure of the countries currency. Look into it. I just made a contact in Belgium. He's using one of those. $200 could be worth it to me
Yea, but I don't think I need that yet.
If you're not microsoldering, don't spend your money on a scope. My advice, spend time on learning to code
Code won't take me long. I can easily interpret just about any language I come across, it's just understanding the basic mechanics of it. After that it's just memorize scripts, basically.
None of the hard drive replacement its come with preinstalled software.
Also iOS is only for iPhones and iPod Touch devices.
Macs use OS X.

Here's a good writeup when you have a fresh disk installed: How to start up your Mac in Internet Recovery Mode. If you haven't removed your current drive you might want to do this: How to Perform a Clean Installation of macOS Sierra.
Also review Apples T/N here: How to reinstall macOS.
