Is there a difference between the A1286 compared to the A1382 battery?

i have a mid 2010 MacBook it orginally came with a A1382 battery can i use a A1286 battery on it ??

FYI the battery connectors are different on these two batteries and the A1382 battery will NOT in fact work as it won't go into the connector port- if you look closely there is a small strip of plastic that prevents it from going in

A 1382 battery should work in a MBP 15" 2010. Both batteries are physically the same size and have the battery connector in the same place. The only difference is that the cable on the A1382 battery is longer than the cable on the A1321 battery.
