Device fails to power on
The tablet will not power up, will not charge, or will not hold a charge.
Damaged or faulty charging cable
The first thing to check is the charging cable. Inspect it for damage, exposed wires, and broken or damaged ends. If the cable appears in proper working order, continue to other sections in this guide.
Disconnected or faulty battery cable
The main power cable connecting the battery to the circuit board may be faulty or disconnected. Check the connection. Check the cable for any tears or broken wires. If faulty or damaged cable is identified, replace it and try powering up the device.

Bad battery
The battery may have reached the end of its life. If the power cable has been ruled out as the cause of the device not powering up, disconnect and replace the battery.
Unresponsive buttons (power/lock, volume)
The external buttons on the tablet yield no response when pressed.
Power/lock and volume buttons dirty
The power/lock button and the volume buttons are connected to one another. Once the two main panels of the device are separated, this button cluster is easily accessed, removed, and inspected for damage. First, make sure the buttons and their connections are clean. Dirt and other debris can interfere with the buttons performance.
Power/lock and volume buttons broken
The buttons may be broken. Once the tablet is open and the buttons accessed, carefully remove and inspect them for damage.
Dip switches not functioning properly
Check the dip switch that the buttons make contact with in order to signal the desired action. These switches can get dirty or even damaged from mishandling of the device.

Frozen or unresponsive touchscreen
The touchscreen does not respond to touch commands.
Damaged display
Make sure the display screen is not damaged. Cracks, brakes, and other damage may be the problem. If the display is physically broken, replace it.
Broken or disconnected ribbon cable
Check the ribbon cables for damage. Make sure all connections are secure withe the lock tabs in the down and locked position. If cables are damaged, replace and try operating the tablet again. If the problem persists and cables are in working condition and connections are secure, it may be a software issue.
