Vacuum will not power on
Your Shark does not turn on when activated from the app or manually.
Battery is dead
If after a charging period, the battery is still on a low charge, it could be a bad battery. Please view our Battery Replacement Guide on how to replace the battery.
Battery will not charge or is depleting quickly
Check to see if your Shark vacuum is fully charged. If the red LED light on the vacuum is red and fading in and out, it is successfully charging a low battery. If battery lights are flashing, there may be a more severe issue with the Shark vacuum battery. If this is the case, check out the Battery Replacement Guide.

The charging base does not empty the vacuum bin when it is docked.
Bin is full
In the base bin, ensure that there is no debris stuck; if there is none, empty the bin and resume cleaning. If the problem continues, check out the Vacuum Filter Replacement Guide.

Filters are dirty
Your Shark AI Ultra may not have a strong suction due to the filters being dirty. To clean the vacuum filters, locate the dust bin and pull out the filter. Clean the filter then put it back into the dustbin. If the lack of suctioning persists, take a look at the Vacuum Filter Replacement Guide.
Brush roll is dirty or damaged
Check if the main brush roller is clogged with debris or possibly damaged. A common culprit is bundles of hair wrapped around it which entangles the gears. Remove the roller, clean it, and put it back into place.
Side brushes are not moving
If side brushes are not functioning properly, check to ensure that all side brushes are free of debris. If they are free of debris, check to make sure that all screws on side brushes are tightened. If the problem occurs, check out the Side Brush Replacement Guide.
Vacuum is pivoting to one side
Your Shark is spinning in place.
One of the drive wheels is not moving
Check to see if the Shark vacuum has a broken or damaged wheel. The wheel may have some debris stuck in it. If this is the case, unclog the wheel and double-check to see if the wheel on the vacuum is functioning properly. There may also be a loose screw, make sure to tighten the screw on said wheel of the vacuum and check the wheel function once this is done. If this is unsuccessful, check out the Drive Wheel Motor Repair Guide for assistance in replacing your vacuum wheel.

Your Shark is activated and supposed to be moving but does not go anywhere.
Both drive wheels are not moving
Check to see if the Shark vacuum has broken or damaged wheels. The wheels may have some debris stuck in them. If this is the case, unclog the wheels and double-check to see if the wheels on the vacuum are functioning properly. There may also be a loose screw, make sure to tighten the screws on the wheels of the vacuum and check the wheels function once this is done. If this is unsuccessful, check out the Drive Wheel Motor Replacement Guide for assistance in replacing your vacuum wheels.
Vacuum motor making grinding noises
Your Shark is running into walls or the wheels are making a grinding noise.
Bumper is jammed or stuck
If the bumper of the Shark vacuum is jammed or stuck, check to see if there is stuck debris between the bumper and the vacuum itself. If the bumper attachment is free of debris and still getting jammed and/or stuck, check out the Bumper Replacement Guide.
Internal motor is bad
If the Shark vacuum is not turning on (motor is not running), try performing a factory reset either through your Shark mobile app or manually from the Shark vacuum itself. If problem occurs, check out the Brush Roll Motor Replacement Guide.
