Error Using Sprint Picture Mail
Using picture mail is creating a C1, G-65, 407 or G4 error.
Low phone signal
The phone must have at least two bars of signal strength in order to send a picture message. Make sure you are in an area that has good reception. Otherwise, move to a different area.
Wrong picture URL
Check the picture URL by entering #DATA#, then selecting 'Camera URL' and 'View.' Verify the picture URL is set to the following link: http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/WMTP_3_4.
Requires hard reset
If the error continues, hold the power button until the phone turns off. Remove the battery as shown in the battery installation guide and wait at least five seconds so the device can reset itself. Then, reinsert the battery and power the phone back on.
Cannot Access Sprint PCS Vision
An error message pops up when trying to access Sprint PCS Vision.
Low phone signal
The phone must have at least two bars of signal strength in order to access Sprint PCS Vision. Make sure you are in an area that has good reception. Otherwise, move to a different area.
Try again later
Errors when accessing Sprint PCS Vision typically mean the system is busy. Try the call again later. Do not attempt to make the call more than three times within a twenty minute period, as this will cause you to be locked out of the system.
Requires profile update
Modify your Sprint PCS Vision profile. Save the changes and then try the call again.
Requires hard reset
If the error continues, hold the power button until the phone turns off. Remove the battery as shown in the battery installation guide and wait at least five seconds so the device can reset itself. Then, reinsert the battery and power the phone back on.
System Freezes/Error Messages/Non-responsive Programs
These are examples of software glitches you may experience with your device.
Requires soft reset
Hold the power button until the phone turns off. Wait five seconds, then turn the device back on.
Requires hard reset
Hold the power button until the phone turns off. Remove the battery as shown in the battery installation guide and wait at least five seconds so the device can reset itself. Then, reinsert the battery and power the phone back on.
Requires software update
Click the 'Menu' key, select the 'Tools' icon and choose 'Update Phone' from the list. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install the updates.
Requires factory reset
This step should only be performed when all other troubleshooting solutions have been attempted, because this will result in the loss of all data.
Click the 'Menu' key and select the 'Settings' icon. Choose 'More' and then 'Security' from the list. Enter the lock code for the phone (the default lock code is the last four digits of the phone number). Choose 'Delete/Reset' and then 'Reset Phone.' After reading the warning that is displayed, press 'OK.' The phone will reset to its factory settings.
Locked Out of Phone
The phone is locked and will not allow access.
Requires key combinations to unlock phone
Attempt the following steps in this order:
- Enter unlock combination.
- Enter the last four digits of the cell phone number.
- Enter the last four digits of your social security number.
- Enter 0000.
- Enter 6285.
Requires provider assistance
Contact phone provider for assistance.
Cracks on Device Screen
The screen appears to be partially or completely cracked.
The cracks can be on either the screen protector or the LCD screen itself. Please see the screen protector installation guide for instructions on replacing the screen protector and the screen installation guide for instructions on replacing the screen.
Cannot Hear Ring Tone
The ring tone is inaudible regardless of the phone's volume settings.
Speaker issue
This is most likely an issue with the speaker phone. Try playing other sounds on the device, e.g. playing a voice mail on speaker phone or previewing other ring tones. If the problem persists, then the speaker will need to be replaced. Please see the speaker installation guide for instructions on replacing the speaker.
Requires provider assistance
If the problem continues or there is only an issue producing sound from your device when dealing with ring tones, you may need to contact your phone provider for further assistance.
Shortened Battery Life
The battery is being drained at a much faster rate than usual.
Sanyo Katana batteries are expected to last 3.5 hours when fully charged. If using a Sprint charger, place the battery in the charger and check its rating capacity. If the battery falls below 80% of the expected rating capacity, Sanyo will replace the battery free of charge and you can replace the battery as shown in the battery installation guide.
Phone Will Not Turn On
Cannot power on the device.
Battery is dead
The phone may have a dead battery. Plug the phone into the phone charger and wait 5 minutes for the phone to recharge. Then, power the phone on as normal.

Remove the battery as shown in the battery installation guide and wait at least five seconds so the device can reset itself. Then, reinsert the battery and power the phone back on.
