POWERbot Moves Erratically
Your POWERbot does not methodically sweep an area and is either moving across the room diagonally or is taking circuitous routes.
Your POWERbot is moving around erratically likely due to the POWERbot's dust sensor functionality. When the dust sensor is turned on and the POWERbot detects dust, it will move in a pattern around the dust until no more dust is detected before continuing its cycle. If you wish to normalize the POWERbot's cycle, turn off the dust sensor using the POWERbot remote. Push the "dust sensor" button located in the lower middle portion of the remote. The "smart" LED located on the bottom right portion of the POWERbot's display screen should no longer be illuminated.
POWERbot Does Not Charge
Your POWERbot does not seem to be recharging at the docking station.
Docking Station has No Power
Check if there is a red plug icon at the top of the docking station. If the icon is not lit, the docking station does not have power. Verify the cord is securely plugged into the back of the docking station and that the AC adapter is securely plugged into a working outlet. If necessary, test the outlet by plugging in something else, such as a lamp. If the docking station still does not get power, the docking station may need to be replaced.
Charge Does Not Transfer
Check if there is a green charging icon at the top of the docking station when the POWERbot is at the docking station. Verify that the docking station is level and that the POWERbot is properly aligned with the docking station. If icon is not lit, the POWERbot is not receiving charge from the docking station. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off and back on again. Verify that the charging pins in front of the brush are clean and free of debris. If the charging pins are dirty, wipe the pins with a dry cloth or rag. Place the POWERbot back upright and realign the POWERbot with the docking station. If the green charging icon still does not light up, the POWERbot's battery may need to be replaced.
POWERbot Shows an Error Code
Your POWERbot's display screen displays one of the following: 'C 01', 'C 02', 'C 03', 'C 04', 'C 05', 'C 06', or 'nobatt'.
Find your displayed error code below and follow the instructions.
C 01 : Object Caught in Powerbrush
An object is caught in the power brush. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off. Then, take out the power brush and clean it. Turn the emergency switch back on.
C 02: Object Caught in Left Wheel
An object is caught in the left driving wheel. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off. Then, take out the left driving wheel and clean it. Turn the emergency switch back on.
C 03: Object Caught in Right Wheel
An object is caught in the right driving wheel. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off. Then, take out the right driving wheel and clean it. Turn the emergency switch back on.
C 05: Bumper Sensor Error
The bumper sensor needs to be checked. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off and on again.
C 06: Dirty Obstacle Sensors
The obstacle sensors are dirty. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off. Then, place the POWERbot back upright and clean the obstacle sensors on the brush segment of the POWERbot. Turn the emergency switch back on.
C 07: Dirty Cliff Sensors
The cliff sensor is dirty. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off. Then, clean the cliff sensors in front of the driving wheels with a soft cloth. Turn the emergency switch back on.
nobatt: Battery Malfunction
The battery has malfunctioned or a wire has disconnected. Flip the POWERbot over and turn the emergency switch next to the battery cover off and on again. If the error code persists, the battery may need to be replaced.
POWERbot's Suction is Weak
Your POWERbot is not properly vacuuming the areas it passes over.
Battery Charge is Low
Check the POWERbot's current charge via the display screen. If the charge is low, move the POWERbot to the docking station.
Dirty Brush
Inspect the brush on the underside of the POWERbot. If the brush is dirty, remove the brush and clean it.
POWERbot Fails to Return to Charging Station
Your Powerbot does not automatically return to the charging station after a cleaning cycle.
Blocked Path
Your Powerbot fails to return to the docking station as it cannot find the docking station. Make sure your charging station is placed in an open area free of possible obstacles so that the Powerbot can easily navigate to it.
Insufficient Power
Your Powerbot fails to return to the charging station as it runs out of power before can make it back. This is the result of a non-fully charged battery. See 'POWERbot Does Not Charge'.

Just taken vr9000 out of the box, charged up, full battery pressed auto, it goes backwards a few inches then says error c07, which is clean cliff sensors! Ridiculous! They're clean as you'd expect, wish I never purchased this.

I absolutely love this vacuum and it worked great for about 2 months and then I had the same issue. I returned it to the factory three times and every time they would send it back and it would do the same thing. So I don't know what the heck they were doing at the factory. It would be fully charged, I would turn it on and then it would go backwards a few inches and then turn off…. $700 dollar vacuum and Samsung couldn't fix it
Barbara Jones -
I have had the same issue, After giving it a thorough clean, it was doing the same thing and moving backward and stopping with an error. I decided to hold it whilst it was running and push the unit back on itself gently whilst turning the vacuum, rotating the wheels slightly against the motor resistance, as if to reverse and turn slightly backward. This seemed to work and it is back to functioning normally.
I think it the wheels being turned manually whilst the vacuum was switched off that caused the issue, having been forced, as it was twisting the vacuum which rotated the wheels whilst stationary trying to clean under the bed, which must have upset the sensors or something, causing an error.
thought I would share this, as I couldn’t find a solution in the manual or online.
Peter Faarup -
Hi
my powerbot is showing as fully charged. The docking station lights are working and the three bars on the powerbot are showing in blue as charged. The powerbot will not leave the docking station, I've followed everything in manual to check for issue and no resolve. There are no error codes being displayed. The best I can get is switching on and off, once switched back on manually it does a count down from 5-1 but then nothing. Also does not respond to remote or by manual input. I'm perplexed! Any recommendations?

Hello, my vacuum is also doing the same thing. After 2 years of posting this question, have you figured out how to fix it?
Allie Roldan -
I just fixed this *exact* problem by replacing the front arm (my guess it was probably the sensor failing). I bought one with a “broken wheel” off facebook and a few screws later had a working vacuum.

C 05: Bumper Sensor Error fix
We kept getting error code for bumpers (C 05) and turning off the power from underneath unit didn't work. When holding the unit in my lap, I lightly pressed on corner bumpers. I could hear a slight difference in the clicking mechanism that is the bumper. Frustrated, I assumed I would need to return the 1 week old unit to the store. With “nothing to lose” at that point I held the vac upside down on my lap with bumpers end pointed down. I more aggressively (but gently) pulled on the bumpers one at a time a few times and “flicked” them. My thought is that it allowed gravity to shake loose possible dust. IT WORKED!
Later during it working again, the unit stopped with the same code (C 05). I turned power off underneath and gently pulled the corner bumpers a few times. It worked!!!
I think due to static and dust that particles get up in there. Overall this is a good product
Jason - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Omg….you totally just saved me bunches of money. You are exactly right!!! Thank you so much. I had the exact thing happening. C0-5…bumper sensor. I turned on and off 10 times. Nothing. Flicking WORKED! THANK YOU SO MUCH

Tom Yu - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Happy owner for over a year. However, the last couple of months, the machine is making a very loud noise when sweeping and then recently, the sweeper goes a few inches, stops like there is something in the path (there’s not), turns, goes a few inches and stops again. It will continually do this and never move from the small 1 foot area. There is no error code. I can use the remote and manually move it around the room, but that kind of defeats the purpose. I have cleaned it well but it doesn’t help. Maybe a problem with the sensor? I am willing to buy additional parts because I have loved this machine and don’t want to lose it.
Sandra Rangel - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I'm having the same issue. What's with these stupid machines.
Caleb Poarch -
I had what sounds like a similar problem (loud noise) after two years of daily use, It was a bearing in the brush. Bought a replacement off the Internet (not cheap). Fixed the problem, not looked back. Similar problem with it going a couple of inches and stopping (or backing a couple of inches) was fixed by cleaning the sensors.

I continue to get the C01 code. I’ve followed the troubleshooting instructions. There was never anything stuck on the powerbrush. I have replaced the powerbrush and it still gets the error code. How can the code get cleared for the vacuum to work properly?

Dealing with customer service is a joke and a greater joke is dealing with warranty repair. No one can make a decision unless you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and threaten to contact your State Attorney Generals Office. Then you will be contacted by someone at the office of the president. After two months of back and forth with Samsung a new powerbot was sent to me. I like the powerbot but it is very sensitive and requires a lot of detailed cleaning.
I regret being part of a global market when the business practices of a foreign country are so much different than the U.S.
Brenda Friend - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
When I first turn on my powerboat, it makes a loud, almost sketchy kind of noise, intermittently for about 10 seconds. It will do off and on for about 2-3 minutes. Then it will shut down with a C01 error code. We have cleaned and cleaned that power brush, we have cleaned all the sensors, and it does it everytime.
Victor Martinez - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I have already sent my POWERbot to Samsung twice. Once the battery was defective and got replaced, the second time the bearings went out on the beater bar. The other day it left the charging dock and went 4 feet and died. It smelled like something was burning. The battery is charged (I tested it), but when I try to manually send it to go vacuum it makes a tiny bleep sound and flashes the green battery then nothing. What do I do next?

My samsung sr2aj9250w keeps turning left and then comes up with c03 error code. It’s obvious that left wheel turns much harder than the right wheel (feels like bearing is bad on the left wheel) why do I get error c03 instead of c02. And what’s the fix?
Max L - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I also had a c03 error code but could see if was actually a Left driving wheel issue. Possibly the computer realises it is turning the wrong way and can sometimes interpret this as a problem with the Right wheel, when really it is a problem with the Left wheel not turning? Of course, in other cases it actually would be the Right wheel.
So in my case to the fix the c03, I purchased a replacement Left driving wheel, then followed the excellent instructions on this website Samsung POWERbot VR9000 Left Driving Wheel Replacement to remove the old one and put in the new one, and the robot is working perfectly again.

My powerbot is a bit special…. It only returns to its dock backwards. Like it centers up to it turns around and backs its rear end up onto the docking station. Of course it won't charge this way, and then will not run until it is switched by hand and charged once again. How the heck do I get my special little guy to realize not to back that booty up??
Kaleigh Coonce - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
That’s certainly a very special bot Kaleigh :) My only suggestion is to try moving the dock to a different location (temporarily), and see if the problem still occurs. Ensure this new location is not near any other wireless devices (alexa, google home etc) and away from any other charging devices. And make sure there is at least 1m/3feet space either side of the dock. Maybe he just needs to feel safe and then he’ll feel better!

Thank you for contacting Samsung Support.
I'm sorry to hear that you experience inconvenience while using your Samsung product. According to the information you provided, I would advise doing a cold boot first by shutting down the device for 10 minutes. If this does not solve the problem, you can contact a Samsung Authorized Service Center for diagnosis and, if necessary, repair.
