Razer Tartarus V2 D Pad and Keys Sticking on Input
Keys and d-pad get stuck on input and other inputs do not work until the same input is pressed again or the keys or d-pad are subjected to rough handling to dislodge them.
Razer Synapse Software Error
One of the most common issues reported with the Synapse software is that certain keys intermittently become "stuck" in an active state. This problem is particularly prevalent with the D-pad, causing unintended continuous inputs. As a result, users may experience unintended character movement in games, such as running off cliffs or performing unintended actions.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure your keyboard's firmware is up to date, as updates may resolve known issues. You can find firmware updates on Razer's official support page
Rebind Keys with Turbo Mode:
If updating the firmware does not resolve the issue, you can mitigate the problem by rebinding the affected keys using Synapse's Turbo Mode feature:
- Open Razer Synapse and navigate to the "CUSTOMIZE" tab
- Select the key (or thumb-stick direction) you wish to rebind.
- Reassign the key to its intended function (e.g., bind "left" to the keyboard's left arrow key).
- Enable Turbo Mode by checking the "ENABLE TURBO" box.
- Set the turbo speed to 1
Substances under or between the Keys or D-Pad and Their Casing
If fixing the software error did not work, it is likely that a sticky substance like soda or food has become lodged between or under the keys or d-pad. Do not use any wet substances on these parts, except for rubbing alcohol which dries quickly.
· To fix this the keys will need to be removed which is explained in the key replacement guide. Once removed the keys and casing can be wiped down with rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip.
· The D-Pad can be cleaned by using a small brush like a toothbrush or a small flexible piece of cardboard to gently scrape away debris. Then an electronic safe vacuum can be used to suction the debris out of the gaps. If this persists the device will have to be opened to dislodge the d-pad so that its underside can be cleaned with a Q-Tip or paper towel and rubbing alcohol.
