Spindle lock button loose:
The spindle lock has issues to where the button is loose and the cover is missing.
Dirt around spindle lock button
If you find your device’s lock button not performing correctly it might be due to the spindle lock being dirty. You can take a pin or a toothpick to clean away the residue.
The spindle is not in the correct position
If your button is clean then the problem might be that the spindle is not in the correct place. Remove the Clamp Nut and the Disc Flarge to show the Spindle. The Spindle needs to be positioned so that its flat edges are in a vertical position. Once you have re-positioned the Spindle, replace the Clamp Nut and Disc Flarge.
Blade guard is moving while tool is in use:
The guard that covers the blade is shaking or moving while the grinder is in use.
The clasp is not clamped down all the way
If you start the tool and the guard starts to shake, shut it off. Before turning the tool back on, make sure that the clasp is fastened down so that it is with the circular part on the bottom of the guard.
The phillips head screw is not tight enough
If the guard is still moving while the grinder is in use, your problem may have to do with the screw holding the clasp in place. The screw can be tightened and loosened to adjust the clasp. If the screw does not tighten or loosen then the thread on the clasp may be stripped and you may have to replace the clasp with a new one.
Rotating rear handle isn’t stable :
There is movement in the handle without pressing the “trigger”.
The rotating lock button is worn out or broken
You would notice this problem when the grip would seem loose without the pressing of the button. This is a sign of a worn out lock button. If broken, you can fix this issue by gluing the button back together.
The “body” of the RYOBI could be broken
If the body of the device is broken this could be why the device’s rotating rear handle is shaking and acting unstable. Try to fix this issue by placing an adhesive on the cracks.

The triggers sticks during use
If you notice that your trigger is lagging then it’s best to clean the sides of the trigger first. Take apart the handle of the device and clean out the trigger. If after cleaning the trigger continues to stick the spring inside the switch mechanism may be sticking.
The trigger could be broken
You can take apart the grip and see if there’s any damage to the switch. If there is no visible damage make sure all wires are connected to the switch. Look for damaged or fraying wires.
