Blender will not turn on
The Ninja shows no sign of power, pulse technology not working.
Faulty power cord
Check to make sure the power cord is plugged into a working outlet. If so, yet no power is being emitted, consider purchasing a new power cord. Replace using this guide.
Lid not secured
Be sure the lid is securely fastened on the blender. For the blender to work, the lid must lock into place with a 1/8 turn to lock into place located at the top of the handle.
Blender leaks
The Ninja is working, food/liquid is leaking from the cup.
Lid not secured
Check to make sure the lid is securely fastened on the Ninja. The pulse technology should not work without this, however the possibility exists.
Improper blade installation
Check to make sure the blades are correctly installed. This is an easy fix, refer to this guide.
Blender cup damage
Check the blender cup/bowl for any cracking or damage. If any damage exists, you will need to purchase a replacement. Try this website.
Blades will not rotate
The Ninja is plugged in, no response when engaging pulse technology.
Power cord failure
Check to make sure the power cord is plugged into a working outlet. If this is not the case, your power cord may be frayed or damaged. Refer to this guide.
Blades are jammed
Check to make sure no chunks of food are jamming the blades. If this is not the problem, try removing the blades, cleaning the Ninja, and replacing the blade.
Blades do not cut/blend efficiently
Pulse technology working, blades not working correctly.
Excessive food/blades jammed
Ensure that a reasonable amount of food is in the Ninja. Too much may cause the blades to not work efficiently. If this is not the case, check to make sure no food is jamming the blades. Try removing all ingredients and cleaning the area as a last resort.
Blades dull/damaged
Check to make sure the blades are in good working condition. Dull/damaged blades will result in uneven blending. If this is the case, purchase a new one here and replace using this guide.
Blender Inconsistency
The Ninja stops working during use, blades stop turning.
Power cord unplugged
Check to make sure the the power cord is still plugged into a working outlet. If so, try resetting the outlet and trying again.
Blade Blockage
Check to make sure the blades are in working condition and not jammed by any chunks of food. If so, remove any blockages and try again.
Motor burned out
As a last resort, check to make sure the the motor is in good working condition. Refer to this guide to examine the motor. As motors are not replaceable except by taking apart an existing Ninja, this is usually a sign to replace the entire device. This problem is extremely rare, so you won't usually experience it.

Why do you NOT suggest PEOPLE COMPLETELY WASH-OUT whatever syrup/fruit juice that has collected at the micro-switch' that is ENGAGED whenever the Blender Container is 'rotated forward 1/8 turn' as per ALL of the 'Operating Instructions'!!!!!!

My Ninja BL487QWB is barely a year old and it stopped working, does not power up. It is clean as I am very careful when using it. I like the item but if the lifespan is only 1 year, that is NOT good! :(

I have the same problem. Do you know if we have a warranty. For replacement ninjas?
Micah Grimes -
I have a Ninja 487QWB and it’s about a year old and it just won’t power on. It ‘s a bummer that it has such a short lifespan. I have a blender for 20+ years and it still works. What’s up with this brand/model???

After blending, there is grease on the top of the spindle. Sometimes this grease spills down into my shake. Why is this happening?

The food processor with all its accessories suddenly stopped working but the blenders are working well. I checked if any food is stuck in the blades there was nothing and I cleaned the machine totally and washed it but the problem is still there. What shall I do

We’ve had ours for 3 years. I am the only one that ever uses it, and not every day. Maybe 2-3 times a week. A few months ago it started stopping (turning off), during 60 second blending operation. i have never over filled it. For the price we paid for this thing, it is unacceptable for this to stop working considering the minimal amount of use it has had.
Will probably never buy another Ninja product! POS!!

my blender cups and the blade system will not go together after 6 months, it is like the blender cup is too big to even get the blade attachment to screw on. both are clean and the gaskets are in excellent shape. it is the same for both blender cups and both blade systems

I've had my ninja/chef for 5 months and I plug it in to make a sauce and it's screaming at me when I turn it on. Even tried to go manual with a lower speed. When I turned it off and removed the container a tiny bit of smoke was coming out. 150.00 piece of equipment for 5 months I barely used only for special occasions and it's broken.

The blade shaft sits to high for the lid to fit securly, fits on the counter but when put on the base it lifts it and raises the lid, never used it, can't get it to work

My chopper is not working, the blades are not turning . I tried emptying it and putting the blade back in but still not working. It makes a sound from the base but blades aren’t turning

My ninja food processor smaller unit isn’t working. The larger blender type unit is working fine. The lid on the smaller processor is on correctly and the unit did work in the beginning so I know how to put it together. Please advise. Thank you.

I can not find an answer to my problem anywhere!
It Powers on but then shuts off. When I hit the power button and hit the pulse, the engine works fine but shuts right off. The pulse button is the only button that works at all!

The power light is flashing and won’t come on! Any ideas?
Craig Brashears - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
The individual cups leak. Is there a gasket available for the BL203Q?
