The Camera Will Not Turn On

The power button does not turn the camera on. The screen is black.

The Battery Is Not Inserted

You may not have a battery in your camera. Obtain a battery and insert using our battery replacement guide link.

The Battery Is Not Charged

Plug the camera's charger into the mini-USB port, or remove the battery using this guide and insert it in the accompanying charger. Your battery should be fully charged in approximately two hours.

The Battery Is Dead

Replace your battery using this guide link.

The Camera Is Slow Taking Pictures

The camera does not immediately take pictures when the shutter button is held down.

Long Exposure Noise Reduction Is On

It is possible you have the long exposure noise reduction feature turned on. Go through the settings menu and disable this feature.

Creative Mode Features Are Enabled

Ensure Night Landscape, Night Portrait, and Easy Panorama are turned off, along with backlighting. Disabling these features and enabling HDR will allow your camera to take pictures quicker.

Pictures Will Not Save

When taking pictures, the camera does not save them for later viewing.

There Is No Memory Card

You may not have a memory card inserted in the camera. To do so, open the card/battery compartment on the bottom of the camera. There is a slot beside the battery for a memory card.

Your Memory Card Is Full

If you do have a memory card inserted and your camera is still not saving pictures, the memory card may be full. To fix this, you can either replace the memory card with new one using the steps in the previous subheading, or you can delete photos from your camera's current storage.

Malfunctioning Display

The screen is not functioning properly.

The Screen Is Cracked

Replace the screen using this guide.

Bad Internal Screen Connections

Replace the screen or fix internal connection issues using this guide. If the problem persists, you may be having an issue with the motherboard. If so, replace it using this guide.

Cannot Create Additional Photos On Memory Card

This error message appears when trying to take a picture.

The Folder Name Is 999 And Contains 999 Photos

Connect the camera or SD card to a computer and rename the folder. To do so, open the DCIM folder on your computer and select the folder named 999. Right-click this folder and select rename, and rename the folder.

Connect the camera or SD card to a computer and rename the photo. Open the DCIM folder on your computer and select the folder named 999, then the photo named 9999. Right-click this photo and select rename, and rename the photo.
