Parent Unit Will Not Turn On

The Parent Unit does not show signs of powering up.

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the power supply may not be connected properly. Ensure it is plugged into both a wall outlet and the charging port on the unit.

Battery is dead

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the battery may be dead. The battery can be recharged by connecting the unit to the power supply.

Battery is faulty

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the battery may no longer hold a charge. In this case the battery will need to be replaced. Refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU Battery Replacement guide.

If the Parent Unit does not power on, the internal power button’s soldered connections may have broken from normal wear and tear. This will result in the power button being unable to complete the electrical circuit. The unit must be disassembled and the connections re-soldered.

Baby Unit Will Not Turn On

The Baby Unit does not show signs of powering up.

Wrong power supply

The power supply for the Baby Unit is not interchangeable with the one for the Parent Unit. Ensure that the power supply being used for the Baby Unit is rated at 5V DC and 1000mA.

Power supply is faulty

The internal circuits in the wall plug end can become damaged due to electrical surges or from being dropped or crushed. If this is the case the power supply is not repairable and must be replaced with a new one from the manufacturer or other retailer. The power supply must be rated at 5V DC and 1000mA.

Power supply cord broken or frayed

Excessive pulling or bending of the power supply cord will result in broken or frayed wiring. Ensure that the power supply is unplugged from the wall outlet before inspecting the cord. If the cord is broken or frayed, it must be repaired by cutting it and stripping back the wires. The wires must be reconnected using proper connectors rated for the application.

Charging port is loose

Rough handling or long term and frequent use may result in the charging port coming loose inside the Baby Unit. If this is the case the power supply plug will not firmly attach to the unit or a rattling sound will be heard from inside of the unit. The charging port must be repaired.

Noise Interference

Noise interference heard coming from the Parent Unit

Units too close together

If the Parent and Baby Units are less than three feet apart, this will cause noise interference. Move the units further than three feet apart to eliminate noise interference.

Units too close to electrical equipment

If either of the units are near electrical equipment such as a television, this will cause noise interference. Move the unit(s) further away from the electrical equipment to eliminate noise interference.

Units too close to other wireless devices

Both the Parent and Baby Units connect using a 2.4 GHz wireless frequency and any other equipment operating on the same frequency may cause noise interference. If this is the case, move the unit(s) at least 5 feet away from the source of the signal to eliminate noise interference.

Static, Crackling or Distorted Audio

The audio from the either unit has static, crackles or is distorted.

Volume on the Parent Unit is too high

From the menu on the Parent Unit press the button that lowers the volume.

Something near the Baby Unit is making sound

Having the microphone too close to a source of sound will create background noise. Move the Baby Unit away from the source of sound. If the Baby Unit cannot be moved, the source of the sound must be removed.

Microphone is faulty

If the microphone on the Baby Unit no longer functions due to being damaged, it will need to be replaced. Please refer to our Motorola MBP33SBU Baby Unit Microphone Replacement guide.

Baby’s room too dark

strange flashing while on. White flashes, and sometimes green flashed.

For us, the microphone works but the video display is off, with the screen showing the Motorola logo (so the screen is definitely not broken or turned off). Any ideas?

One of m y cameras keep flashing that it “too high" no matter how high or low I move it. I can turn it down the farthest it will move and it still say too high. What's wrong with it. I switched cameras and it still does it in that room. Different camera but same problem. Didn't switch cords just the camera unit. Could it be too warm in the room. It's for my grandmother and she freezes so I can't put air in her room. Last I look ed it was 85degrees in there. She thinks it's a perfect temp but I thinks it's too hot. But didn't know if that would effect the camera. Any One else have this problem? Any help would be awsome. I have to have a camera in her room she has dementia.
